E ating processed meats such as bacon every day could increase the risk of dementia by 44 per cent, a new study has found.
The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, examined nearly half a million people with an average age of around 57, who had signed up to the UK Biobank project.
The findings showed eating 25g of processed meat — the equivalent of one bacon rasher — raises the risk of dementia by 44 per cent.
Meat-eating has previously been linked to dementia risk, but the researchers believe that this is the first study of its kind to find a link between the amount of meat consumed and the chance of developing the disease.

Actually, I do. Most “expert” pundits on any subject have proven be about as expert as I am. For me, every new day is a victory of sorts.
DAMN!
I eat bacon at least once a day. Buy it in 10 lb boxes.
Those on low fat diets are starving their brains since the brain is made up of fats.
Bacon (not loaded with chemicals) is good for you, as is MCT oil, avocado oil, butter…no seed oils. Eggs, fish, nuts.
They’re calling Alzheimer’s Disease - Diabetes 3.
Eat broccoli sprouts - cures everything!
I don’t believe any of these studies anymore. None. Too many prior studies have been overturned or proven to be false. They can KMA.
At least I learned something. I had to look up the term “rasher”. It means 3 or 4 slices.

Then, just eat the bacon and skip the rasher!
Hilarious!!
Lol! 🤣
I watched at church a 90 yo woman wearing an N-95 mask shudder as she tried to take a deep breath about every 5 minutes. I don’t think forcing people to wear masks is a good thing. I believe they are doing some people some damage, especially the old lady who was continually trying to catch up on her oxygen.
I don’t believe it. They’re always putting out stories to scare people out of eating meat.
