All anonymous.

I can understand if underaged or a violent sexual assault. But from the documents, Deshaun barely touched these women, if he did at all.

How can they be anonymous if they’ve filed lawsuits? Are they really anonymous, or is the media just refusing to report their names?

Clay Travis - Outkick founder & president - made a couple of great points on Twitter last night. Compare the coverage that Drew Brees’ defense of the American Flag and Payton Manning’s college ‘mooning’ incident received the last couple of years to the nearly complete news blackout on the Deshaun Watson (very credible) sexual assault allegations have received.

The difference in coverage is AMAZING. Mhmmm. I wonder what the reason for that might be.

Bottom line is that when Watson started demanding control of the team (ludicrous for a 25 year-old employee), the Texans should have traded him. They refused (or were playing coy?), and now they may be hosed.

Ever notice this doesn't happen to white players?

That's because white players quickly settle down and have families.

Drew Brees' kids announcing their father's retirement on Instagram.

There are many cases of black athletes having a half-dozen kids by different women and paying thousands a month in child-support.

What the NFL and other sports leagues should have done was to put rookies who sign a huge deal into a 30-day financial and social program that teaches them the value of money & staying out of trouble.

Still wondering if the NFL received any WuFlu stimulus money, directly or indirectly...

Some of these prisons could put together formidable teams what with all the NFL thugs that live there.

Some teams do that, but the NFLPA should really be the organization driving it.

I can’t find any information on any of the women, or the specific lawsuit. I read an article yesterday, which I’m trying to find again, which stated all 12 were anonymous sources. I also read, the charges are all seeking monies.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was guilty, but I also don’t trust anonymous women, masseuses, who want money.

The Palm Beach Post reports that there are up to 22 accusers now. No link, behind a paywall.

It could either or both. It depends.

Every state sets its own guidelines for allowing anonymous or pseudonymous civil suits. Simply put, some jurisdictions allow it and others don't, or they highly limit it. I would say most however, do allow it for any allegation of sexual impropriety. That can range from aggravated rape to workplace sexual harassment.

Also, some of these women have filed criminal complaints with local law enforcement. The names of those cases will of course be redacted. And, news outlets won't publish the name even if it's known, as was the case in the Kobe Bryant trial.

While I don't really have a problem if this is allowed during the pre-trial, investigative phase of the process. I do have problem with civil and ESECIALLY criminal cases moving forward with anonymous accusers (children excepted, of course) because that undermines the constitutional right of confronting your accuser, IMO.

Are they really anonymous, or is the media just refusing to report their names?

Laws usually shield the names of sexual assault victims from the public. Obviously their names are known to the courts.

They do already, and have been.
I’m not sure if you pay attention, but young black males have an impulse control problem...
