Uniformed National Guard engaging in a political protest directed at a Congressman, in the halls of the Capitol no less, is another sign the military is being politicized.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made a comment lumping Guam in with foreign countries which should not receive U.S. tax dollars. ....SNIP...
While Guam is not a state, it is a U.S. territory and it’s residents are U.S. citizens. In perfectly appropriate responses, cookies and books were sent to Greene ...SNIP...
In a totally inappropriate move, Guam Congressman Michael San Nicolas, who is under an ethics investigation, led a group of Guam National Guard in uniform to Greene’s office to confront her. She wasn’t there at the time, but the visual of military-fatigued National Guard engaging in a political protest directed at a Congressman, in the halls of the Capitol no less, was another sign that the military is losing its bearing in the age of Biden.

I cannot imagine how military leaders are letting this happen.
Agreed - protesting in your official capacity in this regard is not at all appropriate.
Although that’s a pretty ignorant comment on the part of Marjorie Taylor-Greene and doesn’t do her any favors to shed the “nutcase” label that has been attached to her.

PATHETIC NATIONAL GUARDSMAN WILLINGLY AGREE TO BE PROPS IN POLITICAL THEATER
Imagine the furor if we did this when Hank Johnson wondered if Guam might capsize.
Why does Guam even HAVE a “congressman”?
It should not happen. Any leader, right down to the company level, who approved this should be removed from service, immediately.
Well, they have been doing this since the January peaceful protests at the Capital as they "protect" the Capital from a handful of Antifa agitators and a few overzealous patriots.
I used to be stationed in Guam.. quite nice back in the early 80’s. Was back there in 2010 and it looked like the slums and homeless encampments of Hawaia but I thought Guam flipped over... /sarc
Official title is “Delegate” rather than “Representative”. All non-state US territories have them.
You are not correct...
Protesting in uniform is against the UCMJ, and the people are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including a courts martial
Just amazing, she should challenge him to a DUAL, he would wet his pants.
Not even supposed to offer up your political opinion while in uniform
Visual evidence that Guam is a US territory for someone perhaps too stupid to figure it out otherwise.
And how is that a contradiction to my comment that this behavior was not at all appropriate?
Fascistic.
Fully compromised, that’s how.
They will gleefully and happily shoot us for not giving up our guns if ordered to fire at us.
I guess that would depend on if they went there protesting or just to pay a visit. Still...it’s teetering on the edge of political activism and they should have abstained. A visit from the Congressman - her own colleague there in the building - would have been sufficient.
Her ignorance is breathtaking, though.
just a clarification...
Yes, it is inappropriate, but it is also illegal..
No insult intended, my FRiend
In making any correction to her comments, the awesome Marjorie Taylor Greene should include the the anecdote of Hank Johnson saying that Guam would tip over if too many marines were stationed there. Yet somehow nobody in the media said a peep about this absurd comment.
In a totally inappropriate move, Guam Congressman Michael San Nicolas, who is under an ethics investigation, led a group of Guam National Guard in uniform to Greene’s office to confront her.
