Of the three COVID-19 Vaccines being presently offered in the U.S., which one would you prefer to take? (if any)
Moderna
Pfizer
Johnson & Johnson
The J&J “vaccine” uses material from aborted babies. The Pfizer and Moderna shots don’t.
None of them. Read the tag.
SARS CoV1 disappeared because it did not transmit easily enough. It didn’t possess the spike proteins which make SARS CoV2 so transmittable. Virus DNA mutate rapidly, requiring that conventional vaccines like Johnson and Johnson be revised and re-applied each year. Moderna and Pfizer use mRNA against COVID spike proteins. The spike proteins revise slowly, and are not affected as much by genetic drift.
I’m getting Moderna in hopes that it will provide long-term immunity.
you are incorrect.
Are any free of fetal tissue stigma?

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but I will not receive this vaccine.
I'm 73, came down with the most devastating flu a year ago November that lasted almost three months, so I figure I got it before anyone was talking about it.
I AM a rebel ... I don't wear a mask and rarely use that Purell crap .... I wash my hands enough to not poison myself.
My initial comment meant to question if we even HAD a vaccine and not (though I didn't imply it THERE... ) a product of stem cell research.
My wife (83-yo with a chronic lung infection from two types of Mycobacteria, not TB ), my 92-yo brother, and I (88-yo) have all taken both shots of Pfizer, the second several weeks ago now. I had a little ache in my shoulder for two days, but no one else had any ill effects. We all judged it a wise thing to do. As an aside, we all three have PhDs in various aspects of biology (for whatever that is worth).
Ditto on the Vitamin D
thanx
From the bishops:
“,,However, if one can choose among equally safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, the vaccine with the least connection to abortion-derived cell lines should be chosen. Therefore, if one has the ability to choose a vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccines should be chosen over Johnson & Johnson’s. ..
They also said that it is permissible to use J&J if it’s the only one you can get.
Moderna and Pfizer used fetal cell lines in the testing, but not in the manufacturing.
J&J used fetal cell lines in BOTH testing AND manufacturing.
According to this, Pfizer is the most moral vaccine (although not entirely moral). However, it is info. from last November.

Pfizer/BioNTech was morally produced and contains no aborted fetal material. They did testing of the product on the HEK-293 cells but they are not part of the product, unlike the others listed in the red column on our website.”

UPDATE:
“So did Moderna at any time feom befinning to end use aborted cell lines? Yes or no?

Yes Moderna absolutely did use aborted fetal cells from beginning to end. The facts linked on the page prove it.

So is Moderno as bad as Johnson and Johnson?
Were the bishops mistaken when they said that BOTH Moderno and Pfizer were more moral than Johnson and Johnson?

The end product of Moderna’s is not as morally problematic because there are no aborted fetal cell components in their vaccine. Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine does contain components and DNA from the PER C6 aborted baby. Both used aborted fetal cells throughout their research and development and final testing. The bishops are correct that J&J is worse for 2 reasons: 1) their end product contains aborted fetal material and 2) aborted fetal cells are continuously used for production by J&J ..”

Bishops say to use J&J if Moderno or Pfizer are not available.
They don’t want people getting COVID-19.
pfizer and moderna went through clinical trials before receiving EUA. So it was tested on humans without the EUA. The EUA is not some trick it was a way to speed up delivery after Phase 3 human trials were completed and reviewed.
pfizer clinical trials started April 29, 2020
phase 1 results: Jul 1, 2020
phase 2 results: Aug 20, 2020 (reported in Nature as phase 1/2 results)
phase 3 results: Dec 10, 2021
EUA for Pfizer issued Dec 11, 2021
About 7-8 months of clinical trial use preceded the issuance of the EUA
Every drug/vaccine may have problems when moving from phase 3 trials to widespread distribution. COX-2 inhibitors are the perfect example. They are great for arthritis pain but one was taken off the market after it was noticed that people taking COX-2 inhibitors had a higher rate of cardiovascular disease and heart attacks.
Since 2005 Celebrex carries a black box warning, (Merck took their drug Viox off the market):
https://www.fdanews.com/articles/75244-black-box-warning-added-to-celebrex-labeling
Both drugs were FDA approved after usual review of clinical trials. Celebrex completed favorable phase 3 trials around 11/13/1998. It received FDA approval under a priority review on 12/31/1998. Black Box warning added in 2005.
The point is no drug or vaccine is 100% safe. In medicine there is always a tradeoff. There can always be unwanted long term effects even with drugs approved by the FDA.
The EUA process is being used for COVID-19 (in all products targeted at the virus) because an emergency was declared. Companies that take advantage of the EUA will likely apply for "de novo" approval so that when the emergency declaration is lifted they can market their vaccine or treatment in the usual way.
