Two big girls walk into a bar
They order drinks, in a thick accent.
“You two ladies from Ireland?” asks the bartender.
Offended, one of them replies **”Wales!”**
“Oh I’m so sorry,” says the bartender, “Are you two whales from Ireland?”

And when it goes home, it will the “Irish Walrus” will then be extinct.
In the meantime, all development may have to cease near Irish shores, as it’s endangered.

The time has come,’ the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings.’

The Merrow is a mermaid or merman in Irish folklore. The term is of Hiberno-English origin.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrow
It has lots of North Sea parallels including the Scottish “Selkie”. They seem to share the conditional ability to transform into what looks like humans.
