Grier reportedly admitted to agents that he had drunk several beers and multiple shots of alcohol before boarding the plane. He apparently fell asleep on the flight and awoke to flight attendants yelling at him for urinating on his seat.
While he was apparently passed out, however, Grier allegedly struck a flight attendant who asked him multiple times to put on his mask, which had apparently fallen off while he was asleep.
Grier reportedly told federal agents that he had no recollection of this.
Unfortunately for Grier, he is facing federal charges of interfering with a flight crew and attendants. This charge carries a maximum term of 20 years in prison and a possible fine of $250,000, regardless of whether or not he remembers doing it

“He apparently fell asleep on the flight and awoke to flight attendants yelling at him for urinating on his seat.”
I dont remember Jagermeister doing this to me..
I know the feeling!😎
He could not handle his liquor and became violent. He is going to have to do his time and pay his fines.
Maybe he will learn a lesson.
Well, he looks fairly contrite.
Several years ago, I was on a 1.5 hour flight that apparently was a flight from hell for most people.
In the beginning, I ordered champagne, as I often do when flying. I was tired to begin with and promptly zonked out after finishing said champagne.
I only woke up when someone wacked me on the head when retrieving their bag from the overhead bin as we were taxiing to the gate.
Apparently, the whole flight had been beset by a monster 2 and half year-old and her family and I had never noticed.
People were real mad at me that I had managed to sleep through it. I mean real mad. They cursed me out more than the family who caused the problem.
I wasn’t like I snored or anything. I was completely still but oblivious.
That kind of story won’t hold for a white male. All a black guy has to say is he heard the n-word. It’s a get out of jail free card.
I’m sensing a distinct lack of intent on his part to engage in any criminal activity.
He was asleep when his mask came off and likewise when he pee’d himself ... he awoke to what I would take as abusive treatment.
Had they not been treating him, a paying customer, abusively there would not have likely been a punch thrown. All the stewardesses had to have done was jus5 be calmer and given him a chance to remain calm.
Stupid behavior but $250,000 seems an excessive fine. How much can it cost to clean or replace the seat?
I don’t drink at all anymore, but when I did, the rule was to minimize it at altitude. It really hits hard at 35,000 feet. In all my years of travel, I have only seen 1 person carted off a plane for belligerence, pre-9/11. The crew had us stay in our seats as federal agents boarded to remove the man after we landed at our destination.
***Grier reportedly told federal agents that he had no recollection of this. ***
Forgetfulness is quite often a symptom of being execssively drunk.
I found that if you get that person drunk again they will remember everything.
Excessive fine, but we weren’t there. It could have been very ugly. Personal responsibility would dictate one not get $h_tfaced before/while traveling on a plane. My guess is this guy knows he is a belligerent/unruly drunk.
Even a single instance of blackout drunk is an inarguable indication of problem drinking. Drinking which needs to stop completely before the person ruins their life completely.
Looks like a bum. He needs to trim his beard, up his personal dress habits and drink at home.
He looks to be in his early 20’s. When you’re past 20, most people already know how to hold their liquor, or maybe not to hold it at all in certain circumstances.
To be so drunk in public that you fall asleep on a plane and start hitting folks during your stupor is not responsible.
Even with that said, a fine of what? $250K (a quarter of a million!!) seems quite excessive, assuming there was no malice involved.
No sympathy for the creep. Just imagine getting the seat he’d just fouled, having your flight delayed because of the cleanup, or being one of the poor souls who had to do the cleanup.
Several beers and multiple shots.
Dude has a drinking problem.
Now he has a big legal problem.
No sympathy for that drunken loser.
Altitude does have an effect, my wife and I were married on Sandia Crest at 10,678’. All my relatives live at sea level (literally). The dinner was at the Crest restaurant, and my former Navy uncle said one glass of champagne was enough. LOL.
Airlines are trying to make up lost revenues
If the drunkard is a woman and there is an argument 10 years later, she will recall every last detail.
