Coronavirus news from around the world indicates that Italy is about to lockdown half the country.
Things are looking much better here in Texas. I don’t wear a mask when I enter businesses, and neither does most other people. The only lunacy remaining here in Texas appears to be in schools and some churches.
I think things are better in the USA compared to other countries because the people in other countries lack courage and conviction, relative to Americans. Who founded our country? - rebels and adventurous people who travelled across the ocean at great risk to come here. We are stronger mentally, on average, than those from around the world. American exceptionalism is real.

Biden wants every American to “do their part” to end the pandemic. No - we will do our part to end the lockdown and the government mandates. The priority isn’t to comply with the Supreme Leader who always knows best, just like in North Korea.

Ping freepmail Impimp to go on the ping list
The mask mandates within the States have fiat authority of regulation and law.
Once the mask mandate is removed, any public accommodation that continues to require masks is enforcing a stated policy of discrimination.
14th Amendment.
Jim Crowe.
Each State legislature has the power to rescind mask mandates and do not need to wait for the Governor to act.
Separation of Powers.
I wish the people in southern Arizona were so free.
It appears most people are drinking the Kool-Aid.
“Biden wants every American to “do their part” to end the pandemic. No - we will do our part to end the lockdown and the government mandates. The priority isn’t to comply with the Supreme Leader who always knows best, ...”
Don’t we have to wait for the CDC to tell us what we can do about ending the pandemic, the lockdowns, and the mandates?
“Don’t we have to wait for the CDC to tell us what we can do about ending the pandemic, the lockdowns, and the mandates?”
I assume you are joking?
The CDC has no police power.
Many of us simply ignore all advice from CDC, FDA, NIH...
coronavirus is MORE than a way for Fauxi and CDC
to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ by patenting death incoming.
it is an IQ test which will split the
human race into Eloi for the DS morlocks,
and the conservatives who have only CW2 left.

That would be an extremely safe assumption.
CDC is tasked with two responsibilities.
First, to minimize infections, hospitalizations, and deaths. Second, to make themselves look good.
All their recommendations are geared to those.
They are not tasked with helping us enjoy life.
Sadly this will continue for a very long time, if not forever. The airports are now federal in their fiat power.
TSA and the airlines are going to be very slow, if ever to go no mask.
It doesn’t matter if you have the vAx, been tested.
The masks are here to stay.
If the preceding macroeconomic analysis isn’t convincing, there are also peer-reviewed studies that find the same. For instance, Ioannidis, Bhattacharya, et al. publishing in the European Journal of Clinical Investigation, concluded, “we do not find significant benefits on case growth of more restrictive NPIs (nonpharmaceutical interventions)” such as mandatory stay‐at‐home orders and business closures.
Lastly, as a crowning example of our politicians’ proclivity to reward failure, it is illuminating to see that more than 90 percent of the $1.9 trillion Biden stimulus is not directly related to COVID-19. Some $350 billion of the behemoth spending bill bails out the same state and local governments that inflicted the greatest damage on their own economies, realizing no measurable gain in public health.
As the Foundation for Economic Education notes, “Biden’s bill spends more than twice as much lining the pockets of bankrupt blue states than it does actually addressing public health.” But then, spending, not public health, is the purpose of the bill.
It was about an election, not a virus.
BRAVO 👏
“I wish the people in southern Arizona were so free.”
If EITHER Gov Duchey OR the state legislature got their act together, this nonsense could be ended this week. Unfortunately, there is a reason the GOP AZ Gov was BOOED at Trump’s rally in Tucson! And with (IIRC) a one vote margin in the legislature....well, I think we’re totally SCREWED.
I wore a mask once for 10 minutes at a walmart last year because every other person going in or out had them and they had workers manning the doors with roped off path to get in. Never went back to that walmart. The bigger walmart in the other direction, away from the interstate, was more laxed.
School has been back in for three months and no masks. Puts a smile on my face to drive by and see them at recess playing outside, no distancing, no masks.
Most people don’t wear masks aside from some old people, some obese people and some sickly looking people. That and employees at retail stores, especially any that have food.
Went to Bass Pro in Springfield not knowing what to expect. There were more conformists but still plenty of mask-less. Store workers had branded Bass Pro masks.
People out here converse at normal spacing, 2-4 feet, no masks.
My ancestors came over in the early 1600s. Got a bunch of lines going back to the Mayflower, via marrying into the Pilgrim clan a few times. Straight back in the surname line came on a ship in 1630. Got people in every war from the Indian Wars all the way up to Vietnam and on both sides of the Civil war.
Some tough cookies. Housewrights, boat-wrights, coopers, blacksmith, a Captain in early 1800s, Shoemakers, lobstermen.(back when they made their own traps and went out solo)
I tore down a two story house by myself in a heat wave with 108 temps and used the materials to build the cabin we live in and a small shop. Cleared woods by hand and for several years split the wood by hand and our only heat is a wood stove. I’m 125 lbs soaking wet.
Heard all my nieces and their husbands and their kids voted for Biden.
Not one blue collar person in the generations after me. In one generation, all traditions were lost, including common sense. Two grand nieces talked nasty as hell about Trump. One’s in the Coast Guard and is a rabid socialist. I quit facebook a year ago because I realized I can’t stand my family. I keep up with one sane niece via email. She’s a minority in MA. She and her best friend from HS days had a falling out in 2016 because the friend turned into a raving lunatic over Trump. Funny, my niece’s name is Karen but I bet her ex-friend yells at people for not wearing a mask. She used to be THEE babe in HS but now she’s put on some weight and cut her hair short and at one time had it dyed purple. Hadn’t got ugly in the face yet but probably is by now.
My wife works at a nursing home and they kept covid out for months but then a co-worker went to St Louis and brought it back. At one point they had 35 residents with it. Lost two but they had underlying conditions to where the flu would have killed them too.
Pretty good for a bunch of dumb redneck people in flyover country, MO. I have no idea how they treated them but it was before any vaccine came out. This is beef cattle country so maybe they used Ivermectin or maybe they just let it run it’s course. Might have gotten a hold of HCQ too. People out here are independent and think for themselves so it wouldn’t surprise me if a doctor prescribed it and the pharmacist he/she goes to church with had no problem supplying it. It was allowed by law and the State left the decision up to doctors and pharmacists as it should be.
Seems like my wife would have brought it home by now. For the first 3-4 years she worked there, she brought home the flu every year, sometimes twice a year. Then one year it just stopped and we haven’t been sick in 3-4 years. We’ve become immune to every strain I guess because we already had them all.
Kinda makes me think, maybe it is just the flu bro.
and that was my Sat morning ramble. There was more but I trimmed it down.
Seeing a few more shoppers without masks in the NW Tucson and Marana areas recently, but still at least 98% wear the muzzle. I have found a Safeway, a Lowe’s, and a Walmart that don’t enforce Pima County’s mask requirements, so I’m OK. Haven’t encountered any Karens for months now.
Dittos.
He should cancel his Executive Orders...that would strip the authority he gave counties and cities to require masks. Unfortunately that would require a leader...sadly, he is not that.
Have only worn a mask about 2 hours over the year. If saying “I’m Exempt” is not accepted, I don’t enter or leave if all ready inside. Costco has been the only business I have actually missed using and so far they have not required a mask at their pumps. Most businesses “don’t ask, lecture or snitch.”
Same here.
If they are going to be mask nazis, they do not need my money.
Our local Home Depot has relaxed their rules (no longer a bouncer at the door). I suspect that it was hurting their business. Last time I shopped there, again, I was the only person without a mask and my naked face shocked people but the masked hired help treated me like a queen.
Still looking for a grocery store that does not have a gate keeper.
