It’s been a day of good news for the Scotch whisky industry.
Following the announcement that the U.K. government wouldn’t raise taxes on alcohol, the U.S. has announced that it is suspending tariffs for four months on a number of goods produced in the U.K., including single malt Scotch whisky.
The Scotch whisky industry had lost £500 million ($700 million) in business from the tariffs and exports had plunged to a 10-year low, so understandably this is a big relief for the industry.

I think she’s a vodka gal.
1.75 every other, or 3rd day.

IIRC isn’t this the “Kennedy tax”? every fifth of whiskey imported into the US has a $1/bottle tax.

Definitely not for everyone, my “go to” at the moment is some 21 year old Balvenie, good stuff.

After my Step Dad passed, Mom emptied his (rather large; always ready for a party) liquor locker and I inherited a bunch of stuff, to include a 1/3 bottle of Oban.
I just can’t. Wish I could, but the stuff is just awful. The bottle is pretty, so I’ll just use it for ‘decor,’ LOL!

You’re welcome! You might want to have a word with some of your local liquor stores. This could be a real business opportunity for them. Which could benefit you, too. :-)

That would be an Islay. Laguvalin, Laphroaig or similar. Not a big fan.

Oban is pretty mild as far as Islay's go.
Sounds to me as Scotch in general will not be to your taste.

Laphroaig will clear room full of people. Very pungent aroma. Smooth at the beginning, then goes off like a depth charge.
