The link is to a different story for time's sake of posting this---Look, I love Rush Limbaugh. Especially the past year he was like a companion when I was working from home alone. However, it's time to get back to talk radio, discussion and problem solving. I honestly feel Rush would not like this weeks long tribute to him---I think he'd want to be honored but he'd want us to get back to brainstorming, calling in and making a difference. I have moved on to other talk radio between 12-3....Not out of disrespect but out of Respect for Rush to move on and "fight the good fight".
I wasn’t being a smart ass, but you are making that assumption of me. I was trying to encourage you to give him a listen. Same as I do my brother. I encourage people to listen to the show. I don’t demand it, and I’m not be snarky at all about it. You have misjudged me my good FRiend. I know all about working, and not feeling like you can listen. I can’t every day either, but I try.
Thank you.I obviously missed this. I’ll try to find it, too.
“Was it an official declaration from the EIB network?”
I found what I had read. It appears to be from different affiliates and networks, not EIB.

I know the guest hosts last week were saying something like, “Rush isn’t going anywhere. The show will be here.” Of course, that’s certainly not up to them.
I have enjoyed listening to old clips I had forgotten about over the years — going down Memory Lane. But you can only milk that so long.
Nobody can replace Rush. The closest one I can think of is Bill Whittle. He can do a deep dive into issues, and find interesting takes on them the way Rush did. And like Rush, he started out more on the pop culture side, moving into politics.
Gotcha, thank you. I obviously didn’t see that post. Good thing there are FReepers who don’t mind helping each other out.
Again, what I said before. It isn’t about what “Rush would want”. He is dead. It’s about what the living want. Some want to memorialize him longer than you. So what? You can move on. Nobody is stopping you. You can ask for other conservative names to replace him without asking others to stop what makes them feel better. it comes across as controlling and kinda “ Karenish”... At least to me.
I listened to Kathryn on Monday and was disappointed that she didn’t discuss more about Rush. I honestly have listened to talk radio less since Trump began his campaign in 2015. I’d only listen to Rush a little and Levin.
I agree. Mostly we’ve been served a lot of vegetable lasagna. We need a fresh voice. We need someone to say maybe the Jan. 6 Capitol demonstration was a *good* thing. Maybe secession ain’t such a bad thing. Someone to push the case in their face.
THANK YOU!
Rush is the Socrates of our time.
I like that he is getting significant recognition.
The producers of the show are probably using this time to work out how the show will go forward.
Caller abortions was a classic on Rush.
I don't think Clubland Q&A is Steyn's "Show", (and there's one coming up at 4pm today if anyone needs a Steyn fix), I just think Mark doesn't want the Golden EIB handcuffs, as I've remarked on a different thread, Rush in one of his last shows plainly stated how difficult it was to have 280-something weekdays a year shot to hell by producing and hosting such a professional show. In retrospect it may have led to his premature demise.
I'm listening to Bannon these days and while I think 3 sidekicks is 2 too many, this morning Steve eviscerated Larry Kudlow for 5 solid minutes while driving home some great takedowns of globalist "running dogs" like Buffet and Charlie Munger and of course, Xiden.
If your assuming I’m a progressive liberal you’re sadly mistaken. Not even close——If anything I’m a limited government constitutionalist. Well, first and foremost I’m a follower of Christ-—
However, if you can look back to my posts in 2006 you will see, I know first hand the radicals of the left. My family had death threats, general threats, bank account compromised, shunned by parents and the school system, excoriated on the media as a “bigot” because we fought the gay progressive agenda in our Public school system.
If you’re not eluding to that then I apologize.
I say immediately start replaying all 33 years of his 3 hour shows starting in 1988 in his same time slot. There’s a lot of wisdom and critical thinking to be learned by the upcoming generations. Then, after 33 years, start playing them over from the beginning again!
Why answer that? Obviously, he’s trying to belittle you.
I'm hoping that a Gen Z will take Rush's place. The reasoning is that a Gen Z would get young people listening to the issues. Someone who was born 1993 to 2002.
No intention toward you personally. The comment, however, is similar to the cancel culture.
But it’s not about you, is it?
After listening 12-3 for almost thirty years, I turned off the EIB today. The host stunk. Rush’s partners had a year to plan. WTF?
Being as Rush knew his time was coming, he probably made arrangements on how the show should carry on after his death.
Everyone knows who the fill-in hosts were. None of them measure up for the long term. I don’t think the successor is anyone who is known by anybody. Any audition will only take a week or 2 to see if the he/she has the staying power. The late Lee Rogers would have been my choice.
