Paramount+ = CBS All Access “rebranding”, which = I won’t be watching.
One of the funniest shows ever written.
Everything was so well done.
Best supporting cast too. Wouldn’t be the same without them.
It was a hoot. Everybody in the cast except KG was gay. Yeesh..
Well in real age time Marty Crane would be about 97 or 98 so I doubt he will be in the revival. His son would now be in his 30’s so I want to see how that is handled.
Then there is Niles, is he still married to Daphne, and will Maris return from exile? So many questions.
Are you curious to know if there was off screen romance between Niles and Marty?
Every freaking studio operation is setting up its own special station you have to pay $7 or 8 a month for. And then they show commercials too. Good luck with that. Hulu is horrible with commercials.
So many movies we used to get free on Netflix or AMC or Prime they now want $4-5 or more to rent. Lol. Not a chance. Most the new movies suck and suck badly. Full of wokeness and 95lb women throwing 200lb fit men around. No thanks.
IIRC, in the last episode Frazier had said goodbye to Seattle to take his show to a bigger market but at the end he abandoned that to chase after his girlfriend (Laura Linney) to Chicago. Is that where they will pick up?
A great show in its original incarnation. But no John Mahoney now... and these retreads rarely reach the level of the first version. Can they not come up with something new?
Hollywood is almost completely out of creativity at this point. Just re-boots of old content, comic book and trilogy novel adaptations, sequels, and pseudo-biographical content. There are the occasional rarities but for the most part what comes out of the major studios is unwatchable.
Kelsey Grammar was in a great show called Boss several years ago. Forget which network, it was a premium cable network like Starz or something. Cancelled after the 2nd season. Which is probably for the best because most TV shows start to really go downhill somewhere around their 3rd season. Orange is the New Black is a perfect example of a show that should have ended after 3 seasons. Why do they think I am interested in the backstory of a minor character just to flesh out a couple more seasons? Well I guess there is demand for it.
Jane Leeves is gay?!
No, they cannot come up with something new. Obviously ;-)
I am with you. There are now getting to way too many streaming services. There is a limit to what anyone can watch
What I do is move around some, I drop once service if I am bored with it and try another. Keep the outlay low and I have not had cable for over 3 years.
I just dropped HBO Max, I saw the new Wonder Woman movie and it was terrible.
I have Apple TV that I got when I bought a new phone last year, I almost never watch it , it has nothing really on, and when my free subscription runs out I will not renew.
The original show had its moments but I was only a sporadic watcher. More so in the early years than the later like most shows I watched when I watched network tv. I know Kelsey is one of the few slightly right actors in Hollyweird but frankly I have zero interest in any big entertainment product anymore good bad or ugly.
The only major character that was gay was the guy that played Niles was gay. John Mahoney, (Martin Crane), never married and was a devout Catholic. Jane Leeves, (Daphne) is married to Marshall Cobin, a television producer and has two children. Perry Gillpin (Roz) is married to painter Christian Vincent and also has two children. Their husbands, and Kelsey Grammars wife, all appeared on the show as extras from time to time.
The guy who played Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe was/is a homosexual but he was a not a major guy.
I remember reading about a woman who got into a fight with a man. And she was surprised she wasn’t easily beating him up, because she saw so many movies.
I have Britbox on my Roku. So many mystery shows and other content. It’s going to take years to mine it out. Shut off the cable 5 years ago. Never again.
