Mark Meckler, the new interim CEO of Parler, currently supports a Convention of States that could give George Soros and other interests the power to rewrite the Constitution. Meckler, who was appointed as interim CEO of Parler following the removal of founder John Matze, currently runs the Convention of States Project, a supposed “grassroots” organization pushing for a convention under Article V of the Constitution.
The project describes itself as a “national effort to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress,” which initially sounds appealing.
However, a report by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities argued that such a restriction on an Article V convention would be impossible, with states unable to control what a convention could and could not discuss, and nobody else having clear constitutional control over the convention.
Former Chief Justice Warren Burger wrote in 1988 that “there is no way to effectively limit or muzzle the actions of a Constitutional Convention. The Convention could make its own rules and set its own agenda. Congress might try to limit the Convention to one amendment or one issue, but there is no way to assure that the Convention would obey. After a Convention is convened, it will be too late to stop the Convention if we don’t like its agenda.”
Conservative Justice Antonin Scalia echoed this sentiment in 2014. “I certainly would not want a constitutional convention,” said Scalia. “Whoa! Who knows what would come out of it?”

Well at least we now know their methods having shown their hand. (If true)
An Article V Convention should only happen if Conservatives can control it.
Bad, awful idea.
It would be chaos and upheaval; if you think that the United States is divided now...think again.
Fake News. Read up on Convention of States. The John Birchers on FR have been spouting garbage for years about it— since Levin wrote the definitive book on it.
Just say NO to a ‘cos’.
A friend of ours told us when parler was first started, “This is an intel Trap”
I wrote to her and thanked her for her insite at the time.
So are we ready to build a Multi-Media Company that is owned by Conservative VOTERS yet?
Blessings
Mark Levin has been promoting Convention of States for years now. Check out what he has said about this. He’s the smart one in the room here.
An Article V Convention should only happen if Conservatives can control it.Then it shouldn't happen.
Conservatives treat politics like a hobby.
The Left worships politics as their religion.
Bottom line is would there ever be 37 or 38 states that would ratify a conservative agenda? If not, then why bother if you can’t get there?
I am amazed by the number of people who think such a convention
could be controlled by Conservatives on Constitutional grounds.
We just had an attempt to impeach a private citizen by the Senate
of the United States. The Chief Justice did not preside over the
trial.
Now we think we can control a Constitutional Convention?
Wow folks, you’re treading in uncharted territory.
As for Soros rewriting our Constitution, well is there much
of anything more absurd?
A convention would look like what congress looks like now: completely dysfunctional. Normal states peeling off to form their own union would be the best solution and even that would be fraught with risk.
Setting aside the possibility of President Klain larping Lincoln, it would still be a rough start since the remaining USSA would go out of their way to make the divorce as painful as possible.
Unpleasant article on the Article V topic.
Wow. That’s probably the most disingenuous headline I’ve seen so far this year. It says a Convention *would* let George Soros rewrite the Constitution. But then the excerpt changes that “would” to a “could”.
Well, yeah. A Convention could let Soros or AOC or David Letterman rewrite the Constitution. Anything is possible with a “could”.
Anyhow, I’m in favor of a Convention of States. The article is correct in that a Convention is risky. But the Republic is slipping away before our very eyes. At least we should try to fix things before it’s too late.
That would be Gab.
I have an account at Parler but I have never spent much time there. The interface is AWFUL and it is so cumbersome. I don’t want an echo chamber which is what I found Parler seemed to be.
Gab has built they own and is even working on a smart phone. They knew they had to do this years ago.
I don’t mind Twitter either, it just needs to be regulated to stop the censorship. There are many patriots and incredible information available there. It is like anything, even your mail box, which you won’t quit, does include junk mail. You get to decide what you read, believe, or don’t.
First one to mention George Soros as a working partner loses.
Where do they find these people?
Did no one else answer the Ad for
Parler CEO?
Dan Bongino may want to think about selling most or all of his stake in this company and just walking away from it.
I could be mistaken, but in a Constitutional Convention, any or all of the current Constitution could be repealed or modified, but whatever the modification might be, the states would then have to ratify the changes as if they were a series of Constitutional Amendments.......
For example of the 2nd Amendment were repealed, it would not take effect unless the states approved...
Parler seems rotten to the core. I hope Dan Bongino can get his investment back.
