After its engine caught fire and lost pieces of turbine blades shortly after departure, the aircraft entered into a holding pattern at 10,000 feet and diverted to Liege Airport. ...The pieces of turbine blades fell in the vicinity of Meerssen, and multiple parked cars were damaged. No injuries have been reported as of now.

google the tail number. that plane was on it’s third or fourth life.
blaming boeing because its second consecutive cut-rate cargo company has sh*ty engine maintenance practices is just stupid.
NOT the image I’d want to see out my window as the captain announces that we’re waiting for clearance to land...(see short vid at site we do not speak of)
The used to have a rule that required any jet heading over the ocean needed more than 2 engines. This is why. Glad nobody was hurt and that the plane was sound to fly back to Denver on a single engine. Imagine how scary if they were 1100 miles over the Pacific. Turn around to So Cal, or keep heading to Honolulu?
Some of those parked cars have hunter crack pipes in them.
I guess the senators won’t be going on vacation.
That’s why newer twin-engine planes have to be certified for ETOPS - Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards (aka: “Engines Turn Or Passengers Swim”) - usually 180 minutes or more on one engine if needed. The Airbus 350 is certified for 370 minutes.
Paging Donnie Darko...
Guessing that Harvey did not make a good impression on you?
“Poor thing. Poor, poor thing.”
Yes- It is kind of like that LOL
If you are on a two engine aircraft, and lose an engine, the remaining engine will have sufficient power to get you to the crash site.
Reminds me but opposite..
Back in the mid-70’s during a freezing cold winter morning my mom went to start her 1970 Chevelle up to drive me to 3rd grade school.
BOOM!
A fan blade broke off it’s hub, Ripped right through the metal of the hood never to be seen again.
The car lasted several years after with a slightly rusted 5 inch slit showing on the center front of the hood.
“looks like it took it right in the spleen:”
That bad?
They have a single-payer healthcare system!
“opposite” meaning instead of a blade entering a car this blade vacated one...
The car engine had more in common with the 747 engine though..
video of turbine from plane...

“The car lasted several years after with a slightly rusted 5 inch slit showing on the center front of the hood.”
Good to hear, as you may have noticed, others are of the opinion; the car did not survive the event.
yea
So... still not time to buy Boeing stock.
Fox is showing this now......Bloomfield, Colorado
Video of the damaged 777 engine in flight. Holy bleep!

Liege is in Belgium, not Germany.
Message to United Airlines and airline workers’ unions? Don’t mess with Heidi or Deep State pols?
I make up conspiracy theories as a hobby. Some are accurate. Some are not so much. My theories are better than Hillary’s, and I bake better cookies and cakes.
