In reality, failures in natural gas, coal and nuclear energy systems were responsible for nearly twice as many outages as frozen wind turbines and solar panels, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which operates the state’s power grid, said in a press conference Tuesday.

That’s fine. If you actually read the comment, I was making fun of the article.

She’s getting a lot of attention just like AOC.
Now it’s just the other side of the coin.

I’d love to be wrong, and will gladly admit it if self promotion isn’t her main goal.

“Advertising that you’re packing heat,”
No need to advertise, her heaters are blatantly obvious!

"Unsaid, was that if, at some point, we did not “convert” we would all need to be killed."

That is pretty much a given, so, in self defense, because the Left cannot be trusted to logically determine facts, we're going to have to do them first...

It's survival of the civilization.

“Ole Joey the great United could care less as he is all about the title of President and not the real responsibility.”

I have dealt with several aging relatives who exhibited lesser obvious symptoms of mental decline than Joe Biden. They feel emotion, but it’s not what you would expect. It’s frustration when they realize that something is wrong. Or, it’s just a misfire now and then and they get angry.

My guess is that, sometimes, he realizes he is the president, but that it has no sense of “reality” that you might expect. Men who are mentally normal, realize that their, say, middle east policy has as many bad outcomes as the one he wants to achieve. That creates stress. It creates constant worry. I think that someone says to Joe, “Mr. President, you need to sign this.” Joe reportedly said while signing executive orders, “I don’t know what the Hell I’m signing.” Harris reportedly said, “Sign it anyway.” That isn’t the man who would be relishing the job, or even, on a consistent basis, a man who realizes he has the job.

We are so screwed.

I'm in Colorado, and followed her campaign. She's sincere.

Hopefully, she can stay out of the grasp of the Swamp.

I hope you’re right, and I hope she does as well.

If I’m wrong, it’s better for our side.
Like I said, I’ll gladly be wrong. We need it.

There’s a huge disadvantage when you’re the side that believes in the rule of law. If we give up the rule of law, what then separates us from them? I think there is a way out of this that does not involve killing the other side. When people on the forum say things like, “Yeah, let’s start the civil war,” I ask them, who, exactly would we attack? There are no ammunition dumps or territory we can take. There can’t be a conservative Sherman burning his way through the liberal states. Do we shoot the diversity and inclusion managers? (I’m sure the temptation is there.) We’d be in prison faster than you would believe. (And, unlike rapist and murderers, they would not let us out just because we MIGHT get covid.) All this while, just as an example, Hillary Clinton, who destroyed evidence, and James Comey, who apparently headed an insurrection against a duly elected president, have book contracts and paid television appearances.

No, it’s back to good, old fashioned, elections. The ballot box, as opposed to the ammunition box. (Yes, frustratingly slow, I know.)

That’s my understanding, too. Likewise there is equipment they could have installed that would have prevented the gas line freeze-ups and kept the coal and nuclear plants from shutting down but they opted not to do that as well. While this weather is not common in Texas it also isn’t unheard of, so the decision to cut costs has led to the deaths and suffering that Texas has gone through and is going through. And since the power company is a monopoly it’s unlikely there will be any penalties for them.

...wind was only producing between 3-17% of its capacity during this event...

Which was pretty much in line with what ERCOT had expected. They project wind generation depending on the conditions and the turbines performed as they thought they would.

The gas plants, on the other hand...

...the resources that the ERCOT should have been applying to RELIABLE backup power...

I don't think ERCOT has any resources.

The power is generated by a bunch of smaller, independent producers who compete strictly on price. They have zero incentive to create redundancy or prepare for rare events so they don't deploy their resources to that end.

And up until now Texas has taken a hands-off attitude on regulating reliability, instead leaving it to the market.

Green energy failed 100%. Fossil fuels failed to the extent that they could not make up for the TOTAL loss of Green.

Easy thought experiment:

What would have happened if Texas was Utopia and 100% Green? Utter devastation and death.

What would have happened if Texas was sane? Sporadic and scattered power outages.

Basic principal is that reliable fossil and nuke power capacity must cover total demand. Every kw of green must have a kw of traditional backing it up.

I try to advocate for Gen IV reactors whenever possible.

THIS, no matter that the Greenies think that they've killed and buried nuclear.
