Gorilla Glue girl Tessica Brown’s GoFundMe page topped more than $20,000 in donations Thursday after doctors finally removed the sticky stuff through surgery.
The 40-year-old Louisiana woman — whose hair had been stuck solid for a month after she used the superglue as a hairspray substitute — started the fundraiser on Monday.
She raised more than $13,000 in just one day — and by Thursday afternoon, that number surged to $20,577.
The fundraiser — started by Brown and a relative and using a photo from her visit to the emergency room — did not detail what she’d use the cash for.
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Michael Obeng offered to perform Brown’s surgery — a $12,500 procedure — for free after hearing about the hair-raising ordeal.

Jeez, if I’d known it was this easy, I’d have never bothered outgrowing my paste-eating stage as a kid, let alone gone through 30+ years of failed attempts at so-called “adulting”, and trying to make something out of myself through education and career. Silly me, not knowing that all I had to do was do something stupid that flirts with a Darwin Award.
At this rate, everyone, who manages to survive the stupid act that invariably follows the line: “Here, hold my beer!” is going to get some of that sweet gofundme cash.

I told my hair stylist about this and she said that girl will probably get a ton of money from Tic Toc. I guess many people make a lot of money from the views their videos get.

I understand the surgeon used special solvent to save her hair, which I take to mean to get the glue out so the hair didn’t have to be cut.
I’d be afraid the solvent on top of the glue would so damage the hair and follicles to risk losing some hair permanently.
I would have said shave the hair and worry about removing all traces of glue from the scalp as gently as possible.
Hair grows back. It might even grow back healthier and more manageable.
I don’t know. Maybe the hair couldn’t be shave off because it was too shellacked to her head.
I see black women all the time with very, very short hair.
She would have been in turbans or wigs for two months max and then she would have looked like one of those black women with very short hair.
