Minneapolis is planning to spend $6.4 million to hire dozens of police officers, at a time when some City Council members and activist groups have been advocating to replace the police department following George Floyd’s death.
The City Council voted unanimously Friday to approve the additional funding that police requested. The department says it only has 638 officers available to work — roughly 200 fewer than usual. An unprecedented number of officers quit or went on extended medical leave after Floyd’s death and the unrest that followed, which included the burning of a police precinct.
With new recruit classes, the city anticipates it will have 674 officers available at the end of the year, with another 28 in the hiring process, the Star Tribune reported. …

If you only knew how many times that crappy allegation and others were made against me. After a while you get used to it. But, then it gets to a point where those in command begin acting like “obvious truths” don’t exist. The people in charge are so far removed from the street that they act like they don’t understand why someone would be angry about being arrested and thrown in jail. I no longer minded about scumbags hurling false accusations against me, I became irate that the command staff didn’t have my back. There was NO “right vs wrong”. Just a sergeant, wanting to make captain, a captain wanting to become major, a major wanting to become colonel and colonels wanting to make chief. If it means screwing you over to climb that ladder... THEY’LL DO IT WITHOUT BATTING AN EYE!
And full well that they will have to sacrifice one of their own to the mob from time to time

Boo hoo, how many innocent drivers and people have police screwed over to fulfill quotas, get promotions, get their relatives off and bring in money to their prescient "WITHOUT BATTING AN EYE".
You really expect the leaders coming from such a pool of moral bankrupt thugs to be honorable?
I doubt they defunded the police last year. City budgets would already have been in place. This fiscal year they want additional money because of the unrest.
Let the city burn to the ground and then hire clean-up crews. Start over again, minus the communists, Marxists, black extremists, whitey-haters, and dupes. Maybe they will make it on the second try.
Oh, they must also ban Democrats and reds from holding any city office. If you want a “clean” city, you’ve got to keep the Marxist trash out of it.

As a white guy, I wouldn’t take a job as a cop in Minneapolis if they gave me the entire 6.4 million.

It seems that taking a job as a police officer in Minneapolis is guaranteeing yourself a few years in prison, and loss of pension.
Either ANTIFA cops or Somali Sharia enforcers.
The only people I see joining the Minneapolis force our officers were just going to use it as a way to get through Academy and stepping stone before jumping ship to a better agency once they complete field training and are fully accredited/certified by the state.
They'll likely get applicants.
But they won't be anyone you want wearing a badge.
I talked with a City of Atlanta officer the other day. He’s trapped by the pension system. Like Milwaukee, they’re around 25% understrength as well.
To be fair, Obama set many of the wheels in motion with his blame of whites and police, even at a memorial for murdered police!

No Somalis are a force there and will be hired.
And instead of good officers, it will become a jobs program for the worst sort of humans.
That’s around $100,000 for recruiting one officer.
Aren’t there a lot of good Muslims they could recruit? (sarc)
