Despite the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic, no one at a crowded grocery store in Naples was wearing a face mask.
That’s because Alfie Oakes, the owner of Oakes Farms - Seed to Table Market, is not enforcing customers or employees to do so, News 6 partner WPLG reported.
“Customers can wear a full bodysuit, and if you’re afraid of bumping your head, wear a football helmet,” Oakes said.
His posts on Facebook referred to the deadly pandemic as a hoax. It’s a position that cost him a contract with the Collier County School Board.
It is not hurting business otherwise. His supporters continue to shop at his supermarket where business was booming on Thursday. Seed to Table was also trending on Twitter.
“Please do your research,” Oakes said, as he defies all scientific research. “Please do your critical thinking and research.”
Collier County issued a face mask mandate. Oakes challenged it in court but his lawsuit was dismissed. Gov. Ron DeSantis has not issued a face mask mandate.
Good man. There is zero evidence whatsoever face masks have any benefit in hindering the spread of any virus. Prior to the Wuhan Virus there have been many studies on this subject. All involving N95 surgical masks developed to minimize Bactreriological Infection in operating rooms. Not one indicated any benefit versus any virus.
The cloth masks and bandanas 99.99 percent of people are wearing are useless. There have been several studies from Scandinavian countries that make this case quite well. All have been censored from publication in the USA. Post them on Social Media and you too will be censored. Persist and you will be cancelled.
No data is #FakeScience, Christian De La Rosa and Andrea Torres, and your reporting is #FakeNews.
I have Burlap. Easy to breathe through. I wait for those N-95 masks people to confront me because the info printed on N-95 says “this mask does not prevent contact or transmission of disease”, Burlap has no disclaimer but probably has the same end result,
“It is not hurting business otherwise”
Of course not. It’s like my cousin who came back from Sturgis a year ago. 95% didnt wear masks and not one outbreak. Those who said there was an outbreak is BS. The organizers had testing sites there as a courtesy for the Karens and Kevins, and ran contrary to what the MSM were saying.
If I still lived in Florida, I would drive from Plant City to where he is and buy something just to support him.
That's dangerous. We are supposed to be a free society. Big Tech cannot be our arbiters who get to reside what's the truth is.
Proud to be a supporter of Oakes Farms. Article is somewhat misleading as I see a lot of masks at my local store but it is not mandatory to wear one.
I’m waiting for the day someone confronts me about my lack of any mask. I’ll look in their shopping cart and ask why they are buying processed foods or point out their obesity. Until they can explain that they have no leg to stand on about my maskless face.

“I have Burlap. Easy to breathe through.”
I made a couple for when i MUST wear one — at the doctor’s office mostly. Made out of 22 count even-weave Aida fabric. The weave is loose, and convenient for cross-stitching a message, too. My doctor laughs when I visit wearing my “under duress” mask.
“Big Tech cannot be our arbiters “
They already are.
I’ve been going to Publix maskless for months here in Indian River County. They have a mask requirement sign and I just blow through there like a boss. It’s comical how masked snowbirds scatter at the sight of the maskless.
My neighbor works there P/T and said employees are instructed not to confront maskless shoppers.
I’m in St Lucie and refuse to wear my mask anywhere!
‘Post them on Social Media and you too will be censored. Persist and you will be cancelled.’
and on FB or youtube a bevy of young females claiming to be medical workers, exhausted by their ceaseless efforts, will descend on you and call you a murderer...amazing how many ‘nurses’ on on social media these days...
Yet you refer to it as "my mask". See what they've done to you?
I wore one once for 10 minutes last Spring. Most people don't wear them around here unless they work in a store that has food. Walmart finally gave up and took down the mask required signs and peeled all the arrows off the floor because both were being ignored. Workers hang out in front of the store while on break chatting with their mask on their chin.
Bunch of rebels here in the Ozark hills.
If you watched the U.S map covid graphs for a while after Sturgis, you could watch the spread. Gone now, finally, SD doing fine.
The virus may not be a hoax, but masking and “distancing” as a way to control it most definitely is. The results which support this point are crystal clear.
