Disney reportedly cut ties this week with conservative actress Gina Carano, one of the stars of Lucasfilm’s hit TV series “The Mandalorian,” on Wednesday. The alleged cause of the firing was a series of posts Carano made on social media that critics claimed were offensive.

As The Daily Wire reported, “The post that generated the most controversy was a screenshot of another person’s post that she then posted onto her own Instagram account. The post compared the current politically divisive culture in the U.S. to Nazi Germany.” The screenshot stated:

Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?

Lucasfilm, which is owned by Disney, announced in a statement, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Social media noted that another actor starring in “The Mandalorian,” Pedro Pascal, had also made a reference to the Holocaust, but no action had been taken by Disney. On June 20, 2018, Pascal posted two images, one of a concentration camp in Germany in 1944 and another of immigrant children “in cages” that he suggested was taken in 2018, hashtagged “#ThisIsAmerica.” Tweet below followed by screenshot:

Gina Carano Rehired By Disney After She Identifies As An Abusive Male Director (Babylon Bee)

BURBANK, CA—Disney has apologized to Gina Carano and rehired her after she announced today that she identifies as a problematic, abusive, toxic male director.

"I'm not a Republican actress -- I'm actually a toxic, abusive, gaslighting director of many popular shows and films over the years," Carano said. "I am finally ready to come out of the closet and live my truth."

Disney's response was immediate, as the company profusely apologized and hired her back.

"We are so sorry to Ms. Carano for firing her -- we did not realize she was actually a sexually abusive male director trapped in a woman's body," said a Disney spokesperson. "We applaud her for coming to terms with her true identity and choosing to live her brave new life as a studio executive who does problematic things to women all the time without any repercussions."

Immediately after the announcement, she was rehired and put in charge of the entire Marvel franchise.

This is upsetting. During the final days of Parler, she posted a lot. She was actually amazed that she hadn’t been targeted yet. Guess it just took a bit for Disney to catch up....

The Tweet she got fired over did no such thing. It showed a picture of a Jewish woman being attacked by a Nazi punk, and she warned that certain aspects of "cancel culture" are reminiscent of some of the restrictions on Jews that occurred in Germany before the construction of the concentration camps, e.g., a growing demonization that saw Jews prohibited from entering certain professions or belonging to professional organizations. I wonder if the morons at Disney recognize that their firing of Carano actually reinforced the point she was making.
