KEESEVILLE — State troopers disguised as construction workers issued 26 tickets Tuesday in the “Operation Hard Hat” initiative on the Adirondack Northway (Interstate 87) near the Clinton-Essex County line.
The New York State Police Troop B and state Department of Transportation announced the news Thursday. Operation Hard Hat is a joint initiative of the two agencies to crack down on work zone violations and highlight the importance of safe driving through active construction and maintenance zones. They say this initiative, like past ones, was successful, and they plan to do more later this summer.

Troopers dressed as road workers issue 14 tickets Thursday (7/18/20)
They may look like road workers but they could be cops (7/17/20)
So is it ok for constructions workers to dress like cops?
“OPERATION LARD ASS!”
PING!
Only when they’re whipping union votes.
state coffers are low.
Only if they need to raise revenue. Gotta make up for all those citizens leaving the state who want to keep their money instead of giving it to Cuomo to dish out to illegals and Leftists.
Going from unmarked cars to unmarked troopers...
It’s not okay for folks to drive like loonies through construction zones.
We’ve had a number of horrific fatalies and injuries in NYS roadway work zones over the years.
As long as they can dress as an Indian and a sailor, too.
Yep.
When this “flashing light” law first went through in my state, the police set up a series of speed traps.
Pull over one driver for speeding above the posted limit on 59. Subsequent to that was another officer stationed to pull over anyone in the adjacent lane driving the speed limit (and not 20 BELOW the posted limit). And same with another officer in tandem after that waiting to pull over someone adjacent to THAT shoulder lane.
And a biker.
Exactly. My give a damn meter seems to be busted regarding morons who speed through construction zones.
“Going from unmarked cars to unmarked troopers...”
It may seem inoccuous but it is in fact secret police.
“It’s not okay for folks to drive like loonies through construction zones.”
I’m with you on that. These people actually do real work, rather than burning up downtowns, and there are some real d-heads that endanger and often kill them...so let those clowns learn their lesson.
Having said that, I do think there has to be level of accountability regarding the speed limits - so if you have a divider-separated work zone, you don’t get to set a speed limit of 35 MPH just for ‘revenue enhancement’ (a little Democrat lingo, by the way).
“It’s not okay for folks to drive like loonies through construction zones.”
It would seem marked cars and uniformed police would be the best way to address that.
But secret police?
Wow! going under cover to nail drivers. Too bad Il Duce’s troopers don’t go under cover in Antifa and BLM and do some real police work.
The Village People are taking their show on the road. Will the cowboy, Indian, and soldier be out there too?
“HARD HAT”. “HARD HAT”.
“You know who this is”?
“No”.
“Goodbye, Lardass!”
Thanks for the laugh.
