Surprisingly good article from guardian uk.
There is still broad agreement that three or four toppings is optimal. These should be thinly sliced, in part to ensure they cook thoroughly. Delicate items should be layered under cheese or oiled for protection (undressed kale will easily turn to blackened ash); those you want to crisp up should be placed on top.

I have 4x kids, 3 still with us. We have a “make your own pizza” night maybe every other weekend. The kids love it. They get to be involved and create their own dinner. I make the dough, portion it out, shape it, and they go gangbusters. Great way to bring the whole family together and talk, have some fun.

I think of shepard’s pie as being the english equivalent of a pizza pie. I love pizza but I could go for some of that too.

Secret to good home-made pizza: The less toppings the better.
All you really need is a good tomato pizza sauce, cheese, olive oil, and maybe a little garlic.

We have hundreds of great little family owned pizzarias here, but now and then I hanker for home made, which is usually a fresh French bread sliced horizontally, add some Rao's pizza sauce, some bere bere (Ethiopian spice) to give it a little heat, some cheese, grated garlic, pepperonis, red onions, any leftover sausage or meatballs from the night before and/or bacon, and yank a couple of leaves of basil off the window sill plants.
Oven at 400 F for 10-15 minutes and add the chopped basil once you pull it out. Crust gets nice and crispy, pair with some Marrano Vignalta (eyetalian cab) and proceed to burn roof of mouth.

Its fun to mock brit cooking, but we invented bagel bites and totinos pizza rolls.
I wonder, do the brits have yorkshire pudding pizza bites?
