Tom Brady Traitorade beer review: I drank it so you don’t have to

The Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski-inspired Traitorade key lime sour from Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based Smug Brewing tastes like lime and spite. It’s a beautiful anti-love letter from New England to the former Patriots stars after they jumped ship to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. From a distance, it can look like a Gatorade. But for those who really know it, you can see a dry, sarcastic layer of affection.

It’s like walking down a Boston street in February, staring at the ground and not talking to anyone. It’s bitter and abrasive. In a vacuum, it should be a miserable experience. But deep down, for a lot of people, it’s just the way they like it.

The sentiment in this beer is a regular Dunkin’ iced coffee tossed at the rear windshield of Brady’s car as he left town. From a distance, it’s some Jeremy Renner in “The Town”-level psycho behavior. But

I had to watch Joe Montana finish out his career with the Kansas City Chiefs. After a while, you get over it - Montana will always be remembered as a 49er, and Brady will always be remembered a a Patriot, regardless of what happens on Sunday.

I don't give a crap about the Super Bowl. Never have. Bread and circuses.

But THIS is funny:

Fruit sour with sea salt? Talk about clueless! That and the fact that without Brady the Pats would have won Jack diddily? Those obnoxious yankees should still be worshiping that guy!

New England didn’t want them anymore, Belichick thought he could win without Brady.

Sorry, you are incorrect.
Brady wanted to be traded years ago.

Belichick tried to keep Garrapello. Then Bill tried to trade Gronk for a first round draft pick so he draft Baker Mayfield.
Nobody wanted Gronk. Everyone knows how injury prone he was.

Even at the end of last season NO OTHER TEAM other than Tampa Bay was willing to pay Brady for two years and 30M. Nobody.

Personally, I hope Brady wins. I will bet on KC.

FYI, most Patriot fans want to see Brady win.

IF anyone is paying attention, it was Belichik who decided he was going to try a new scheme, without Tom Brady.

He failed miserably. Brady is playing again in a Super Bowl. That pretty much tells you everything you need to know.

You are correct. Or even like Baltimore Colts fans watching Johnny Unitas playing for the Chargers (if what he was actually trying to do at the time could be seriously called “playing”) it is hard for a fan to see.

But you are right, and I don’t personally know any Patriots fans who harbor anything but good will towards Tom Brady. I know there are some out there, but I don’t know any personally, and I know a lot.

However, after 48 years of rabidly watching pro football, I simply stopped cold.

I couldn’t watch a sport whose players view me solely as an income source, and have no compunction about viewing me coldly that way as they hold an entitled hand out, while freely and with open contempt denigrating me, my values, and my country with the full expectation that I will continue to place money into their outstretched palm.

All the while openly communicating that it was my privilege to pay them for their contempt and hatred towards me and all I believe in, and their regard for me was so low that they estimated I would be unable to stop viewing their games.

They were wrong in that respect.

As for Tom Brady, I have always admired him. He is not a hero to me, I stopped having sports “heroes” in my teens, but I admire his drive, his work ethic, and his undeniable talent and toughness.

As a Patriots fan, it was terribly sad to see him go, but I have never, and do not wish him ill. If I were still a football fan, I would watch the Super Bowl and root for him, in much the same way as I rooted for Ray Bourque when he won the Stanley Cup with Colorado.

So, I wish all the best for Tom Brady, and goofy Gronk, who was so much fun to watch.

But I cannot watch football anymore at all, and so, will not watch the Super Bowl.

Of all the things the Left has done to destroy this country, one of the things that rankles me personally is their destruction of all sports, specifically the most American of them all (IMO) Pro Football.

I hate, detest, and despise them for that.

After he learned of how Brett broke my heart, a friend sent me a Favre jersey from the ten minutes he was with the NY Jets, LOL!

I am NEVER going to be over Brett and his FAKE RETIREMENT, then showing up in a VIKING uniform of all things!

Jerk.

I don't know enough of the history of the Packers to know who Brent is.

Brett Favre was on Tucker Carlson the other night. Tucker had just reported on a story that cheese is good for you, so he talked to noted cheese-head Brett Favre. (Brett did not sound very knowledgeable about cheeses--seems he only eats 4 kinds of cheese.)

Sports loyalty is a weird thing. We love them when they’re on our team, and the minute they’re gone, no matter why they’re gone, we hate em. I’ve seen guys booed who got traded, they didn’t even ask for a trade, had nothing to do with it, just got traded. Then they play in their old town, BOOOOOOOO! Cause now they’re a bum. Tribalism.
