Dear beloved fellow FReepers, please keep me, my spouse and my parents in your prayers as I had to decide to put to rest one of our kitties. She had 17 years--a rescue, my spouse and my first of many, and not one day went by that this awesome, talkative sweet little silver tabby did not embellish us with such great love, such cuteness in personality, and was there every time for us when anyone ailed of sickness or pain, despite her own physical problems.
The Lord put animals here for many reasons, the two I'd like to expound upon are love and companionship. Wild animals like dolphins have saved lives, and so have dogs, horses, etc. In this fallen world, where mankind turns a blind eye, closes their ears and abandons people, pets have held the line to provide in their stead. They have helped many through many a perilous or deeply depressing hour, and this sweet little kitty did too.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for Krystal Lynn. She brought us such joy, and help me to remember these times over and above the pain of letting her go.
So sorry for your loss, and prayers for the sadness to be replaced by only sweet memories, in due time.

The Rainbow Bridge brought much comfort to my wife and I during times like this.
RainbowBridge.com Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Prayers for your Family and your Furry member. In Jesus’ Name I Pray. Amen.
Will definitely be remembering you and this loss in your life. Know that there are others that understand exactly how you feel. May your sweet, tender heart be healed and may you give your love to another animal, when the time is right.
Grief is the price of love. Rest easy in the knowledge that you gave your beloved kitty a life that was a reward for both of you.
Very sorry for your loss. We have 5 of our own, all rescues. They are indeed family members in ever sense of the word. Take comfort in the fact that you gave her an amazing life.
We understand. Our dear pets are more than that. They are loving family. (Hugs) to you at this difficult time.
I feel your pain......believe me. We had to put our Pug down 2 weeks ago and I know what you’re going through. God bless you.......
I’ve had cats all of my life, and they really become ‘People’ to one.
Cats seem to each have their own very distinct personalities, likes, dislikes, habits, etc.
I haven’t known dogs as well, but I’ve known horses and some wild things; and cats seem to dig themselves into one’s affections and soul in a way that no other domesticated animal does. Maybe it’s because they are just so independent, non-submissive, and ‘in-your-face’ about all of their cat wants and need.
(I haven’t been able to pee alone since Leroy Cat learned that he could push open the bathroom door. I guess I’m a ‘captive audience’ in that situation...)
Ohh my prayers are goin up for y’all !
So sorry for your loss. I had to put down my 3rd cat about 6 months ago. Now, my 14 year old pups are starting to make me worry. What a hard thing, saying goodbye to our critters. Prayers going out to you.
Have had that sad experience several times with our cats and see in the not too distant future we will have to go through this with our dog
Been there, done that. It still sucks and hurts. But the alternative is to watch your precious fur baby suffer. You did the right thing. Prayers that you’ll come to the same conclusion and be at peace with your decision.
We love our fur babies very much, it never gets any easier to do this.
I have a 15yo Maine Coon who will not be with us much longer.
You set her free. Don’t feel guilty.
Always a very sad time and hard decision. They are so much a big part of our hearts and joy every day. Take care and prayers your way. Bless you.
We lost our beloved homeland last year but nobody seems to grieve and we have all accepted it.
