Dear beloved fellow FReepers, please keep me, my spouse and my parents in your prayers as I had to decide to put to rest one of our kitties. She had 17 years--a rescue, my spouse and my first of many, and not one day went by that this awesome, talkative sweet little silver tabby did not embellish us with such great love, such cuteness in personality, and was there every time for us when anyone ailed of sickness or pain, despite her own physical problems.
The Lord put animals here for many reasons, the two I'd like to expound upon are love and companionship. Wild animals like dolphins have saved lives, and so have dogs, horses, etc. In this fallen world, where mankind turns a blind eye, closes their ears and abandons people, pets have held the line to provide in their stead. They have helped many through many a perilous or deeply depressing hour, and this sweet little kitty did too.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for Krystal Lynn. She brought us such joy, and help me to remember these times over and above the pain of letting her go.
It is a very sad task but she knows you love and cared for her all her life. You were a blessing to each other. Prayers for you all.

It’s a very hard thing to put a beloved animal to sleep. I’ve been there several times.
I hope that your knowledge that you probably saved her a lot of mortal suffering will be consolation.
Very sorry for your loss. I lost a kitty last September. It is never easy. You and your loved ones are in my prayers.

Prayers to you. You are not alone in your grief and hope that helps. We went through that with our sweet little dachshund in August. It’s one of the hardest things to do in life. But with great love you saw her through.
So very glad you were blessed to have her for that wonderful length of time.
I’m so sorry you have to go through this, but it’s the price we pay to have these wonderful creatures in our lives. They depend on us to help them through the end. I always explain to them what is happening and why, they seem to understand.
God grant you the grace and strength to go through this. It’s helpful to express your gratitude to Him for giving you the gift of this wonderful creature to make your life easier.
Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if we are reunited with our dearly loved pets on the new earth. I’ve laid some of my dear fir buddies in the ground as well. Lord please bless P777 with peace. Amen.
And I am sure that when the time is right for you, another precious animal that needs a home will be lucky to find you and your family, just like the puppy that picked us out a couple of weeks ago at our local shelter.

I’m so sorry to hear this sad news! We have 5 rescue kitties and lost two to old age last year. Can you post a pic of your baby?
It is tough to lose a cat that has been part of your household for years and years. I was tore up to bury Sammie the Cat a couple of years ago and I’m not really a cat person. I’m sorry you lost your pal. You really took great care for kitty to make it to 17!
We’ve cried our eyes out each time we have had to let one of our furry friends go. They are almost like our children, and I share your pain. I hope all your memories of good times will console you and ease the hurting.
Had to put my kitty of 18 years to sleep 3months ago OMG it is still overwhelming!! I am so sorry for you God Bless I did get another kitty which has helped a lot!!
