A woman who is preparing to meet h a man she matched with on Tinder has provoked a lively debate about whether height really matters when dating, ater admitting she's nervous about him potentially being shorter than her.
Posting anonymously on Mumsnet, the UK-based woman explained she's 5ft 8in and has always dated taller men, and asked if she's 'incredibly shallow' to worry that a man she's planning a socially-distanced date with might be shorter.

I am in the other end of the spectrum.
I am literally one inch too tall to safely fly the plane I have flown for almost three decades. In fact, one more inch and I would not have been permitted to serve in the military. I get a medical waiver every year and an told that if I eject my neck will probably snap.
I scared girls I met. Very happy I had an arranged marriage ( to a six foot woman who thought she was unmarrigable).

I once saw a woman who walked up beside me while I was waiting at a counter. I’m six foot, but she must have been over seven foot tall. She was tastefully dressed, with a nice face, and a fit figure. Still, the proportions were all wrong. Just by being larger her figure was unattractive, if not weird. She reminded me of why I hated the architecture of the Kennedy Center: 36-24-36 is fetching, 56-44-56 is not.

I just blame my father for my bald head. Well, him and my mother for marrying him. Not a week goes by when I don't ask her what the hell she was thinking. :-)
As a half-dwarf (left side is quite a bit shorter than the right side), I find women who discriminate base don height a rather mixed bag.

There are a lot of available pretty women out there looking for a relationship ....I mean a lot....it's sad....beautiful middle aged southern girls alone marriage failed but today it's not like before where the man cheated and left her although that's still the majority....a lot of these women just got tired of the man and the expectations or wanted more....they learned to hate what they once loved....I felt sorry for the ones who were petty took care of themselves and did everything right and he still dumped them at 50 for younger babe....it was sad....and either marriage failure even after 20 years ....is way too common and it's gone up because now women leave too for selfish reasons

I prefer to see his eyes rather than his nostrils, but then, I’m only 60 inches high. In any case that’s neither here nor there, when I say yes or no to a date. Just don’t trip on me.
Don’t I know it, my SO and former female co-workers (not at the same time) would say things about guys that they liked. All physical, lustful traits but yeah, ok, whatever I know we are human.
One day I’ve turned it around on my co-workers and said if I was talking like that about humanoids with vaginas you would rake me over the coals for being shallow. Then I described a perfect woman (physically), which none of them met. Talk about about a bunch cats that herded together.
My co-workers never brought such things up in my presence again. My SO and some in her family on the other hand needs to be reminded every now and then that just because you have a hoo-hah doesn’t mean you aren’t shallow. :)
It’s the ears, it gives her something to hang on to......
