Tell your sister that she has no need to feel bad because some people consider virtue signalling to be better than compassion to others.
I told her those people were idiots,
This is so reminiscent of something that happened across The Pond last year. This is the lunacy we’re dealing with. The funeral director separating the son trying to comfort his mother during his father’s funeral.

Liberalism is a mental disorder. Virtue signaling has to be top of the heap of the symptoms.
Christ healed lepers and consoled those in need. Tell your sister that people as diverse as hippies and Jesus are on her side. Everyone else needs to check their pride.
Screw all this coronavirus nonsense ! this globalist communist plot to destroy America!
It’s time to stop obeying any of these dictates masks social distancing don’t get tested you name it
let’s drive this thing into the Ashbin of history!
I’m sorry that your sister’s church family is so shallow and unfeeling. There is no question in my mind that she did nothing wrong in choosing to comfort a friend.
She has a kind and loving heart. I’d say The Lord approves.
Peach
Seems like only yesterday that I was considered anti-social because I wanted to keep people at ‘arms length’
Jesus touched lepers.
You did right, and so did your sister. I would have made the virtue-signalers pee their pantaloons.
Like RINOs, they are Christians in name only.
They love the world. We are warned against that. Your number one goal shouldn’t be to live the longest.
It is easy to fall into the trap of having the world define what is good and go along. It feels like what you are doing is right. Remember those who crucified Christ thought they were doing good.
I should hand my work ID to the safety lady and tell her I'm going to go eat too.
And Jesus answering said, "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
And he said, "He that shewed mercy on him."
Then said Jesus unto him, "Go, and do thou likewise."
My middle finger would’ve been triggered.
This has been a big issue since day one of the dempanic on March 12, 2020. The formal public roll out of the term “practice social distancing” will be studied in business and communication schools for decades.
I like social distancing....IN A CHECK OUT LINE!
The simple answer here is that people are (or at least should be) free to express themselves and associate how they please. Of course this means taking risk/reward into account and acting of their own volition (personal responsibility and all that entails).
That some people prefer to use what they perceive as a public health issue as a cudgel and do so without meaningful evidence to support their claims or to at least logically analyze their own thoughts/opinions/actions with regard to that is, well, nearsighted.
In a place of worship to one’s God whom all rights supposedly derive from it is unconscionable that some parishioners might see fit to castigate someone for associating freely and exercising their rights.
Please tell your sister she did nothing wrong and to think on things that Christ and his followers did (helping lepers, others with communicable disease, etc.) I think that might help some people to consider that what they are preaching now contradicts the teachings of their faith and natural law.
That’s this layperson’s nickel on it anyhow.
Here’s how to deal with such idiots.
Stick your thumb in your mouth, a half inch will do.
Act like you’re blowing into it real hard, like blowing up a balloon. Make sure you puff out your cheeks.
Slowly raise your middle finger...
