New administration's punitive decision could lead Israel into bombing Iran's weapons-making facilities.
US President Joe Biden has halted the sale of F-35 stealth jets to the UAE, even though they were promised as part of the Abraham Accords.
The new administration has raised concerns the UAE might use these jets against the rebel Houthis in Yemen. The Houthis have no air force and only rudimentary air defenses. The UAE has a decently-sized air force made up of 77 F-16s and 63 Mirage 2000s.
The UAE operates with Saudi Arabian air assets against the Houthi insurgency in Yemen. Saudi Arabia has 42 F-15s , 74 light attack F-5s and 44 Tornado fighters.

Say goodbye to the historical agreement between the UAE and Israel. Deep State needs its Middle East Forever War to keep the defense Dollars flowing in to their coffers.
The problem with any country buying American hardware is that every four or eight years our politics goes bat-$hit crazy. Then, either the hardware or the necessary spare parts become impossible to get. Having made probably half of my 33 years in income from foreign military sales, I would still recommend that no one buy our hardware. Instead I would concentrate on Israeli, Japanese or Korean hardware Much of it is at least as good and some of it is better.
Okay, I’m going to take flak for that comment, but here’s why. Several times in my career the company proposed a huge improvement to the hardware. The cost of changing all of the documentation in the US is so high that alone often led the military to turn down the improvement. However, other militaries are small enough that they grabbed every better idea that came along. The net effect is that often, militaries like the Israelis have qualitative superiority. Also, their knockoffs of US material are often much improved versions.
Obama getting all of his dreams fulfilled without getting any of the stink on him.
