Initial info claims that a fiberoptic cable cut in Brooklyn is the cause. Most major services seem to be down. Zoom, Google, Verizon, many others. Even as far as Pittsburgh, where the NOAA weather radar is apparently out.
Northern CT is fine—except of course we are facing the blizzard of the century....
Would you believe two feet...
One foot....
Six inches....
Three inches?
Guess I will have to get the broom ready.
;-)
Works in Florida Panhandle............................
Cue the Johnny from <>Airplane!<> pic.
How will all those DC bureaucrats survive without their porn?..........................
Saw some effects today.
What set me going was that I was unable to log in to my health insurer’s site which is in NYC area. By phone daughter in Enjoysey said her email was out (Yahoo). That was about noon EST.
Yeah. Cut line. Sure...
I’m in Central NY State, an hour and a half east of Albany, and all is well. No outages.
Flyover country here. Tuned & stuned.
All appears fine in central PA. I do find it interesting and oddly suspicious that a fiber optic line was cut. The same thing happened in the Philadelphia area last week which knocked out phone service, including 911, in several central PA counties.
Major services (Verizon, Google, Zoom, Amazon, Gmail, Spectrum, Comcast, etc.) are all showing problems in the past two hours.
However, they appear to be localized to the Boston--WashingtonDC corridor.
Here in Upstate NY everything is wonderful. Well, it's snowing... but the internet is fine.
“Reports say Boston to DC.”
Permanently cancel that stretch of hell.
I’m in philly and we are ok. my VPN runs through new york.

The traffic report at noon today said that the only problem is in DC? That traffic guy said it right. Human trafficking will thrive under this administration. Sad but true.
Even though I drive I-95 daily, I’m good with that.
Sympathies to you good guys and gals in that area from here in Occupied Illinois.
No problem in Boston.
I live in Virginia and work remotely for a company in New Jersey. We had an email around 1pm advising personnel in the North East may be experiencing Internet outage....mainly Verizon Fios customers. Slowness all that. For me I’m not having issue where I live.
Verizon FIOS.
Our local schools in central MD warned that some students are having problems.
Our son also got a warning from his private school but no one there has yet had a problem (they are “OFF” today because of ice so doing virtual rather than on campus)
