Initial info claims that a fiberoptic cable cut in Brooklyn is the cause. Most major services seem to be down. Zoom, Google, Verizon, many others. Even as far as Pittsburgh, where the NOAA weather radar is apparently out.
I’m near Pittsburgh ... my VPN has been slow today ... took me about two minutes to download a 15MB file on a 75Mbps connection. I am not having any other problems though.
Reports say Boston to DC. I’m in between 60 miles NE of DC along I-95 corridor. Obviously my internet is working. Verizon.
Internet service is fine here in Charlotte, NC.
NYC area. We’re alive.
Oh’s Nose! The freeloaders in the big cities won’t know how to deal with their life.
No problems here in North NJ, at least with my provider.
My East Coast Verizon is fine.
I noticed an outage about 12hr ago. Very unusual. It was late so I didn’t wait for it or time it. Seems to be ok now.
I went to Down Detector and put in Google. It showed a straight red line with a small peak at the end. It showed various lines with little squiggles.
I have no idea what that means.
SE of Pittsburgh about 40 miles. Yes, it was acting funky earlier today but seems to be running normally now.
I can’t pick up phone calls here (Ohio)
This is from a news service that begins with “R” and ends with “euters” (no link, because copyrights and stuff):
Individuals across the East Coast of the United States reported outage issues with online services including Alphabet Inc’s Google, YouTube, Zoom and Slack Technologies Inc, disrupting essential services as many tried to login for work Tuesday morning.
Verizon Communications Inc alerted users about a fiber cut in Brooklyn, saying it has no estimated time of repair yet.
I live around Boston. Little bit slow - people noted it during zoom confs. - but no major outages
Hoping d.c. is down. We’re safer then.
Mooresville, NC is working fine.
Toronto Canada seems normal....yeah I know that’s a setup line if ever there was.
Biden did say we had dark days ahead....
My internet here in Southern NH just went out for a few mins.
It is back now, and working fine.
