Lavo will likely find this (admittedly gorgeous) unit tough to sell next to a battery system.

Paint the case green. And add some fancy yellow pinstriping. Like a Surrey.

Storing green energy in an explosively volatile form.

Finally. Hydrogen is not a fuel, it is an energy storage medium.

Do I really want a tube of hydrogen next to my house? (Oh, the humanity...)

Storing green energy in an explosively volatile form.

That's what makes it exciting!

but it's fair to say it could really get a party started in the rare event that a house fire managed to reach it.

You bet it would, can't wait to see the first one on the Internet!

As opposed to propane being piped directly into your house?

Or a 500 gallon propane tank sitting right in your backyard on your home out in the country?

My propane tank is 150 ft away from my house, just saying.

This actually speaks to what I was thinking. This looks great, but I’d want to store it like we store propane.

They really missed the critical point, which is a comparison of the cycle life of fuel cells versus lithium batteries.

Safe independence from grid is a national security issue. It’s been too long in coming. More innovation in storing and using energy apart from coal and oil is not ipso facto a bad thing.

Cool. Mine was only about 20-25 feet from my garage on a half acre, suburban lot. When natural gas came into the neighborhood, we immediately switched.

40kWh is a bit above a days worth of energy use for the average residential user (30kWh).

I’d probably put this a bit away from the house as well. No reason it HAS to be right next to the house.
