With all due respect to the Robinsons, can we please get a clear and final answer regarding twitter linked videos and stories? I have tried to post same earlier and my post was deleted while others post and their stories remain up on the site.
In particular I was trying to link to a video that Jack Posobiec psoted on twitter. Jack is a Christian, Veteran Navy intel officer, and China analyst.
Post seem to be up to the whim of the moderator as compared to a stated policy that is equally applied.
I really do not care what the answer is, but I would appreciate clarity so that everybody knows exactly what the rules are. This is your site and you set the rules but clarifying the rules would be useful
Interesting viewpoint
Every time a Freeper follows a link to Twitter, a demon gets its horns.
No, he’s correct.
I don’t go to Twitter anymore.
I did so to find out from from Jim why edd tide has his own Invitation Only threads.
No invite from ebb tide, you are booted.
I have repeatedly asked by PM/FM what is the policy regarding “breaking” news...with no response.
There is nothing on the pages regarding posting as to what does or does not constitute “breaking”.
When I post something in “breaking” with which the mods disagree all my posts for the next 24 hours are relegated to the hinterlands of “General Chat”.
I get it: Your forum, your rules. But PLEASE, offer some solid guidance or else remove the “breaking” option for news forum posts.
Even if they do not answer directly it would be beneficial to post the guidelines so that people know the rules.
We do not necessarily have to agree with the rules, but we will respect them. What I have no tolerance for is rules that appear arbitrary. That would make us democrats.
BTW, I believe you can get most Twitter content while bypassing it by going to Nitter.com.
im with you
Never again
The religion forum is FR’s protected safe space.
If i KNEW the rules I would understand and I would obey.
Aye-Aye!
Caucus religion threads of all kinds are addressed in da rules found here
To wit:
Religion Forum threads labeled “Caucus”
Caucus threads are closed to any poster who is not currently and actively a member of the caucus group.
For instance, if it says “Catholic Caucus” and you are not currently, actively Catholic, then do not post to the thread.
However, if the poster of the caucus invites you, I will not boot you from the thread.
The “caucus” article and posts must not compare beliefs or speak in behalf of a belief outside the caucus.
There is little to no tolerance for non-members of a caucus coming onto the caucus thread to challenge whether or not it should be a caucus. Gross disruption usually follows.
If you question whether the article is appropriate for a caucus designation, send me a Freepmail. I'll get to it as soon as I can.
I do not even care if they are somewhat arbitrary. Just state them to make it easier.
For example, there is an interesting account on social media platform that appears to have exceptionally close relationship with the current administration. I dare not post it though as I expect it would simply be deleted by an admin moderator and then my remaining post got to the bitbucket.
Again, I fully respect the Robinsons and this in no way is meant to cause them grief or harm. I just would appreciate a posting to help guide us as to the rules.
Hear, hear. I’ve noticed this as well. And I agree it depends on the moderator on duty.
This this is been a Free Republic tradition for decades. Inconsistency.
Is Gateway Pundit posted in blogs or in news? We’ve often seen moderators publicly take posters to task for posting GP articles as news. And yet, to this day will see Gateway Pundit posted as news and as chat.
That said, there is no greater stessor or tauma than losing ones helpmate and spouse...followed closely by losing one’s mother.
I’m giving Jim and John a Looooooooong pass.
Rules on FR sometimes come in the form of customs, traditions, and tribal knowledge. You learn them over time.
You don’t post blog links without incurring the attention of Humblegunner, you always check with Lazamataz about the girls, and you provoke the wrath of the Viking kitties when you poke our beloved host.
Twitter and Facebook are becoming persona non grata here and I support that movement. They’d silence us if they could so why give them a voice here?
I fully understand, appreciate, and respect that sentiment. Like I have said, this is their site, not mine. I am a guest. I was hoping an admin moderator could shed some light here.
>> You learn them over time.
You must be the longest lurker EVAH!! lol
Gotcha.
For the record, I don’t “do” either of those anti-social media platforms and have never posted links to them here...at least within conscious memory.
