Let me be clear: the president of the United States had every right to question the counting practices, lack of transparency and rules changes without legislative approval leading up to his defeat. Questioning government is a critical component of American culture and society. It's part of why a Republican form of government can work.
The problem today is that too many people ignore facts and history and regurgitate "talking points" from agenda-driven elites who control the "means of communication".
When the president of the United States is not "allowed" to inspire legal and peaceful protests, then we no longer live in a free country.
When tech billionaires are allowed to go unchecked deciding which speech is allowed and which isn't all the while enjoying the protection from liability from the federal government, then we no longer live in a free country.
When mobs of armed protestors with black shields and incendiary devices can walk unchecked through cities and neighborhoods forcing closures, destroying stores and homes, assaulting and, in some cases, killing people, driving police officers from their precinct buildings and stopping medical care from reaching people behind the rioters line, then we no longer live in a free country.
How did this happen? There are three reasons, in my opinion, that the president failed. At every turn, he had the opportunity to right the wrong, but didn't. President Trump could have solved and even prevented much of what we are now experiencing. Unfortunately, he did the opposite of what he should have done. His Oval Office speech about violence this week was the capstone on a lost war that leaves the rest of us to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

1) Feckless frauds? They STOLE his election! Nothing feckless about that.
There is nothing “old money” about these new digital media conglomerates.
It was a very successful presidency both domestically and in foreign relations/defense
The only big thing PDJT failed at was Draining enough of the dam*ed Swamp, neutralizing or eliminating the Enemy Within.
This was his nemesis throughout his presidency and his downfall at the end of it with the Rigged Election.
The one thing I would say is that it is not easy to get rid of the Enemy Within. Indeed, most societies all the way back to the Jews in the Exodus (and in Israel even today), the Roman Republic (where Caesar forgave his enemies and even gave them back government jobs, only to have some of them stab him in the end), and more.
It is a shame. ON the positive side, this has revealed much of the Enemy Within’s hidden tentacles. so that perhaps, just maybe, if American citizens ever get a chance to clean house again, we will know a bit better what must be done.
Wow, you really think his ‘deep state’ exposure won’t be unwinded? That strikes me as incredibly naive.
"Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"
That is a very good analysis. Paul Ryan also led a mass retirement of R reps who would have enjoyed a >90% re-election probability that handed the House to Pelosi.
Yes. Understood.
This idiot has no clue of what is currently transpiring in the US and Western Europe. But he will.
Those criticisms are fair, and to some extent I agree with them, but it’s impossible to say that there’d have been a different outcome if he had done them. I tend to suspect that no matter what he did, we’d have an outcome like the one we had. Trump wasn’t supposed to win in 2016. He took them by surprise. There were no surprises this time. The powers that be were never going to let me win again. By hook or crook, they were going to make him a one-termer no matter what.
“Wow, you really think his ‘deep state’ exposure won’t be unwinded? That strikes me as incredibly naive.”
So what are you trying to say? That soon everyone including the vast Trump voting block will forget that the deep state exists? I don’t think so. That sounds like a McConnell-Romney-Obama dream. However, if the police state grows, many will fear to acknowledge its existence, and others will go underground.
Had he fired that turd Fauci in April or May, and flooded the HCQ out, he could have moved forward with someone better.

Fauci will be remembered as the exemplar of modern day science when the facts don’t matter, only subjective emotions will.
Fauci is a fraud and should have been fired long ago when the facts about the spread and danger of Covid were understood. He knew damn good and well when he started his BS that Covid would mutate rapidly and often (just like all flu viruses do) so vaccinations would be irrelevant. As it is, he ignores facts and placates the progressive agenda with his Scary Agenda of Falsehoods.
Judges.
TBD
NO. We won’t forget that the deep state exists. Gigantic duhh factor.
But we put in the best anti-deepstater we could find and nothing happened. Now they are doubly emboldened.
ok, and .... your point is....?
Fauci was a major vector in
The Perfect Storm
against Trump.
If I were a libtard, I would sit back and admire his moves.
We all conservatives better goddam well realize what has taken place here, else we’re dead.
+1
Honest question on #3: how was Kennedy allowed to federalize the national guard in specific states to be used as an aggressive tool to forcefully enroll black students in 1950s Ole Miss. I would think that will be a state or local decision also but it wasn’t.
The answer is that those Federal troops were not sent on short notice to quell an insurrection or riot. Rather, they were sent to enforce Federal court rulings that had been the result of many years of legal battles.
The situation in 2020 with all those rioters and looters was very different than what you describe.
