Pizza is popular in China?
I am having a hard time seeing burgers not on the list
Unexpected!
In China isn’t bat soup #1?
Until there is a multi-million dollar federal grant to study this, I am skeptical of the ranking.
Take away food? Is that an American phrase? I’ve never heard that before. I’ve heard of take out or pizza pick up.
People UK call it “take away,” here in the USA, we call it “take out.”
In the UK we use the single word takeaway to mean any restaurant with items “to go” or “take out”.
Post WWII, Chinese takeaways opened all over the UK and became very popular. My first visit to one, as a 10 year old in 1973, was to buy chips (fries) on a Sunday. At that time and into the late 80’s the British “chippy” - or fish and chip takeaway was prohibited from opening on a Sunday. I imagine the Victorian trading laws did not explicitly include Chinese restaurants.
I actually dislike Chinese food and had to wait until 1981 to have my first pizza - from a pizza takeaway restaurant.
Bogus numbers. That “stuff” in most of those countries surveyed IS NOT pizza.
Home cooked on The Joe, can’t be beat.
We used to call it take out.
It is now take away.
We are global citizens now comrade.
Eat your peas...
I had pizza yesterday - the wife went to lunch with some friends so I got to choose...she’s on a low-carb diet so I try not to tempt her when we eat together.
Kinda miss Little Caesar’s Pizza pizza twofer. Wasn’t bad, in the late seventies, when it was new. Last one here in town was in the K-Mart, of all places, both long gone...
“Take away”, NY Post? In America, it’s called “takeout”.
