Hopalong Ginsberg Ping List
FReepmail me to get on or off the Hopalong Ginsberg Ping List.
LOL! Good! πππππ¦¨
I see now why your other videos don’t have vocals. LOL! π€£
Good song.
Starve the beast.
Hard to tell someone to GFY with an instrumental.
Thanks!
See you on Gab. :)
> You prefer to deal with companies with actual virtue rather then those who just virtue signal?
Yes - they’re less likely to cancel me for sh*ts and giggles.
> See you on Gab. :)
I’m @HopalongGinsberg
Good idea, Hoppy! And I like the Goodbye song to go with it!
Now imagine a time traveler from just 30 years ago. What would they think of that? What is this Bitchute and Rumble? What is YouTube? What are links and why are they below?
World has changed in 30 years. Back then, you needed a recording contract to cut a record and had to do it in a recording studio where some old man drinking black coffee out of a styrofoam cup sat behind a big window and controlled some gigantic soundboard with 3,000 knobs, buttons and sliders. Now you do it from your parlor and get millions of views in minutes.
Goodbye to youtube with a link to youtube
Facebook?
Instagram?
Smatter choo?
Thanks! It just seemed right.
Glad you liked.
I agree re the world changing and the music business. The good news is the gatekeepers have lost their power. The bad news is there are orders of magnitude more contenders. The bad news ainβt so bad. ;^)
The video is on YT so that people who go to YT to find my music will be able to find it elsewhere. It is the last video I will post there, barring very unlikely circumstances.
Yes, I use FB and IG. They are parts of an oligarchy, making it very difficult not to use them if one wishes to reach an audience. I am building my presence on alternate sites, and will drop them when the damage to myself from doing so is manageable. Twitter I dropped earlier this week.
What are you doing to starve the beast?
That was my next question. Forget Fakebook. Thanks for all the other sites and the kitteh message!
My pleasure.
Just uninstalled filezilla, which is Mozilla's FTP client. I've installed three new browsers so I can quit using firefox. Ditched my personal fb a few months ago and twitter a few weeks ago. I run Linux on my PCs but have done that for over a decade.
I'm on palemoon browser right now, copying my open tabs from one of my firefox browsers. I have regular ff and ff developer edition running at the same time. Next I'll copy my other ff tabs to another browser, not sure which. Running Linux, I have a wider variety of browsers I can install. qutebrowser, dillo, konqueror(file manager + browser, luakit.(some are lame) Then of course I have Brave and Dissenter and I might install Chromium which is what Chrome is made based on, as well as many others. Could install Vivaldi too. I think firefox is the only one that has scrollable tabs. The rest just pile up and get narrower. I'll find out if palemoon has scrollable tabs here shortly.
I quit my personal fb but still have a fb business Page. I've never done anything with it so I'm going to delete it and the associated account that I registered with my gmail account. The only email I get there is related to that fb account because I swapped all other references/accounts/registrations from gmail to my ISP connected email. Once I delete the fb account, I can remove my gmail account from thunderbird, which I'll also be getting rid of since it's Mozilla.
I have another email client called Evolution but I only use it for my webdev stuff. I'll probably install Claws email client for my personal accounts and then ditch thunderturd. I have a dozen email accounts because I have to have one for every website I build and then I have 4 personal email accounts that I use for different things. One I use just to sign up for various websites. My ISP based one is for official stuff like Utility accounts etc. Two more that are for two of my websites that I keep separate from all other websites which are on Evolution. I run two email clients because I like to see all inboxes in the left pane without having to scroll. That way I can see if I have new mail at a glance. I can also keep concerns separated. Personal/business.
Will have to keep the gmail account for now, otherwise our Android phone will become almost useless. I've been looking into that issue as well, getting a degoogled phone. The wife likes her fb app and games though. Her whole workplace basically uses fb messenger for comms, even her supervisor. She also has a paycheck related app and I don't know if it would run on a degoogled phone or if I can even find the app as an apk file. Cell phone is a tough one. It's either apple, android or a basic phone that will call, text and take pics and probably not much more. Would be fine for me but not the wife.
I build websites and it's hard to not use some sort of google services and the site has to be coded with google search engine result in mind. There's also google fonts. Hundreds compared to the half a dozen standard web fonts. Your choices are to have a website that looks like 1990 like FR or use google fonts. What I do though is download the fonts and upload to the web server and serve them from there. That way, the site's not making a call to google with every site visitor. I've got one site that has to do decent in search results so I have no choice but to use google services for that one. Submit the site to google, google analytics and keyword research etc. The rest are my personal sites and I don't care if they don't show in search result.
Between that one website and the android phone, it's impossible to ditch my gmail/google. Since I never log into youtube, it's a pain in the butt ears. I wear headphones and they keep resetting the volume to 100% with each new video I watch. Then they have a popup that goes over the volume/play buttons about the time you reach for them. Basically trying to punish people for not being logged into google. Bastards. I try not to go to youtube but they have tons of stuff that no one else has. Auto repair videos? try finding that elsewhere. If it's something I might want to watch a second time, I'll download it using youtube-dl command line downloader. I can download music as audio only mp3 file also. Videos will fill up a HDD pretty quick. I need to get a new SSD external or three.
Don't have cable/satellite. I use the free streaming services and mute/ignore commercials. I'm getting ready to build a streaming tv box. We had a firestick and nVidia(android) and they both run slow due to all the advertisements for premium services. The box I'm building will have a web browser so I can just go to pluto.tv, klowdtv.com etc. Screw all the apple/android apps. It will also have Kodi on it which has a lot of free streaming addons.
I don't do walmart. I use amazon for research and then buy elsewhere, usually the same price or cheaper. I do ebay but never buy from sellers in blue States like CA, NY, NJ etc. The only thing we finance is our property. Built our house(cabin) and shop using wood from a house I tore down for the material. Got a shed the same way. Moved from the East Coast to Missouri. Came from FL which isn't bad but I got sick of hearing foreign languages and sirens. Muslims have taken over gas stations, convenient stores, beverage stores and most grocery stores. They could all shut down one day and starve the State. I also never liked the way FL sticks out like an appendage waiting to be cut off. Two interstates get blocked or blown up and their screwed. We were getting priced out of the game there anyway. Always wanted some land and $10k per acre in rural FL. We paid $2.8k here and it's a good piece of property. Electric/phone, half flat, South elevation. 30 miles to the interstate, 80 to St Louis but there's major shopping/big stores 60 miles away. We're up against the National Forest.
So yeah, I've done a few things and am working on more.
Good. My FB is both business and personal - without it Iβd lose half my audience. IG is also dual use.
