Let's get real Pence could not give the Presidency to Trump

Posted on 01/12/2021 7:30:24 PM PST by springwater13

A couple things would have happened if Pence unilaterally ignored the election results in the Senate.

1) The Democrats would immediately sue and it would go before the Supreme Court within 24 hours and overturned. Even a Republican Majority could not allow it as it would create the Precedent of any future Democrat Vice President being given the authority to unilaterally void an electoral college and Congressional certification vote. It was always a ludicrous argument.

2) Pence would be promptly impeached by Pelosi and likely would have to resign or face a Senate trial.

The only thing it may have done was stop the riot and insurrection and make Pence a folk hero to millions and likely 2024 front runner in the primary. It wouldn't have given Trump a second term though.

Rudy came into the picture when he had president Trump give back the Michael Cohen campaign contribution—which was a particularly stupid thing to do because according to the prosecutors Trump received “silence” as the “thing of value” in-kind campaign contribution . Giving the campaign contribution back was an admission of guilt Ie, if you gave it back, then you received it.......but it was Story Daniels who got the money, not the Trump campaign —-and that should have been his legal argument —ie “I never received anything from Cohen—not money or something I could give back or refuse to accept.....and make the argument that Cohen made a legal “independent expenditure”. And accuse Daniels of blackmail. Or make the argument that Cohen paid her to talk, not be quiet. Who knows?
Rudy promised that “AFTER NEW YEAR”, there would be some big story breaking that might bring down the whole Democrat party—-so when people showed up on Jan 6, they excepted something so big that it would change vote in congress. But Trump didn’t ask anybody to break into the Capitol & impeachment is not about popularity. We already had a fake impeachment that John Roberts should have tossed out and cited impeachment mangers for contempt for delivering it. Good God, what was Roberts thinking? Why does he think the Chief Justice presides over impeachment? There were nothing but lies in the articles.....no high crimes or misdemeanors . “Trump cheated in 2016 and we have to get him out o office or he will cheat his way in again”??? Democrats cheated this whole year, starting with the fraudulent impeachment and fabricated false whistleblower.....then they cheated by shutting down the economy and using shutdowns and violent protests to pressure people to oust Trump. Then their judges and lawyers and elections official cheated. How much can people take. Hunter’s laptop waa the real reason for the impeachment ...but the investigation began BEFORE Biden got into the race. probably, Biden got into the race to stop it —and no doubt, the Comey -Mueller witch hunt was also a “a good offense is the best defense “ cover up. There is no justice and there should be no peace. They appointed a special counsel over Valerie Plame , too—even though there was no crime because she was not a spy...and neither Bush nor Cheney lied about British intelligence reports. The Democrats and their press have become worse than shameless. I hope they are afraid. They have guilty consciences, no doubt. John Roberts should toss out BOTH impeachment’s and he should toss out the entire Mueller witch hunt and convictions. That might bring some REASON & justice to calm the mob.....that Democrats created . people aren’t stupid . It went too far. And it wasn’t Trump. The press would have done this to McCain or Romney, too. Trump fought back. That is why people have his back . Bush lost the party because he couldn’t defend himself, so people began to doubt him as a war leader....and not fighting back makes a leader look guilty or uncaring along with wimpy. Look at all the military people lined up behind Trump. He was not prepared to be president and often took bad advice....but people saw what was happening..... Bush in 2008 blamed $4 gas on “demand from India and China”——and there, he lost Bill O”Reilly...and the country. Look how Trup stood up to the Fed when it was hell bent on raising interest rates, causing a stock market crash and recession......Trump got the Fed to reverse course and it worked. When gas prices rose, Trump was out there fighting to get them down again. No BS excuses about demand from India and China—which nobody believed because it wasn’t true. That’s why people loved Trump. You fight for people and they fight for you.

“Q”Anon specifically targeted military and religious people - to convince them that they were “citizen / digital soldiers,” acting on the behest / behalf of “insiders” - i.e.: the “white hats.”

“Q”Anon conditioned people, by way of a sophisticated psyops, to convince them to commit self-destructive acts, which led to people getting killed.

8-chan or similar “Q” boards were loaded with posts about a plan for a January 6th attack on the Capitol - and the FBI knew of it, and did NOTHING.

That is an illicit use of the 25th Amendment, which specifically cites physical or mental incapacitation. It is the Democrats who are actually subverting the Constitution.

Oh please... 7 states were in dispute having had their EC slates chosen by the certification of fraudulent vote counts.

You play semantics with ‘dispute.’

Not going to argue with your interpretation.

There is a DISPUTE with the Electoral votes under the governors seal, challenging their legitimacy. Just because they were sent under the governors seal doesn’t make them indisputable to any scrutiny or challenge.

That makes sense and as I said, Pence was going to follow the rules and why PDJT thought he wouldn't is beyond me. He had some really bad advice in this process.

That said I would never vote for Pence. There are questions as to how he was selected for the VP. Also Pence's link to some of the people who actually opposed Trump's agenda being brought in to the Whitehouse early on in the administration. There was also a concern that leaks were coming out of the VP’s office during the Administration. So all in all I do not trust a Christian swamp creature anymore then I trust a secularist swamp creature. If a rich man going to heaven is like pulling a camel through the eye of a needle a politician going to heaven has to be like pulling a blue whale through the eye of a needle. You do not play in the dirt and not get dirty.

Uh no Pence should have rejected the states with competing slates of electors and directed those states legislatures to straighten out their problems and then certify.

What competing slates? Every state sent an electoral slate that had been approved by its governor and its state legislature - that's the only slate that matters. It's true that several states ignored their own voting laws in their elections, but Pence as vice-president did not have the authority to over-ride the decisions of governors and state legislatures regarding their state's electoral votes. Vote fraud obviously took place in multiple states, but that fraud could not be remedied by Pence or any other vice-president - the vice-president does not have that authority.

Everyone getting mad at Pence is getting mad at the wrong person. The fraud took place much earlier in the process and had to be addressed at the state level - expecting Pence to magically make it better after the fact is completely unrealistic.

Wisconsin State Legislators wrote to Pence telling him their vote count was fraudulent and to not certify their state. This was well before Wednesday January 6th.

Yes, I saw that too.

A Republic with lawful democratically elected Representatives, Senators, VP and POTUS or a Communist owned evil, tyrannical, treasonous, corrupt political elite uni-party?

Guess which one Pence supports.

(Hint: Have you ever heard him complain about the second option?)

The challenge has to come from an entity with official standing in the state. Otherwise you would always have dueling elector slates coming from each state.

What's to stop a couple of Dem legislators in Texas from saying they contest the result and sending in their slate? It would happen in every state in every election.

The Archivist forwards the certified slates to Congress and that's all that they consider, and this year there were no states with competing slates.

7 states and we all know which ones they are submitted two competing slates of electors to the electoral college on Jan. 6th. One for Trump and one for Biden.

Pence didn’t have the authority nor the right to “throw the election to Trump.” He did have the authority and responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the vote. Calling for an audit and recertification in the affected States was the right thing to do.

The alternative is what we have now... distrust. Tens of millions believe the election was stolen. Tens of other millions think they are justified in criminalizing their neighbors. Elected leaders are fearful of the electorate. The electorate is fearful of the government.

All of this solved by an open and transparent certification of the vote. The fact that the Powers-That-Be have blocked any and all scrutiny into the results is deafening... and frightening.

Exactly. A lot of very false information being spread around here an elsewhere.

There were no states with “competing slates of electors” - only one set was certified and sent to Congress.

And Pence had ZERO authority to reject them or give any direction to state legislatures.

Right, those “competing slates” did not exist. And Pence has zero authority to “give direction” to state legislatures. All of that is stuff that is completely made up to create a false narrative.

lol when you are playing with cheaters you have to be a better cheater he should have rejected the fraud states then congress would have to go to the supreme court an get a judgement then get somebody to enforce it it would have bought time.

People I’ve met who believed in “Q” all were young and didn’t believe in the Apollo moon landing, either. “Trust the plan “.....the idea that the Donald was Bobby Fisher level chess player who always was 5 steps ahead of his enemies was so hard to believe just from watching Trump day-to-day that those who believed it were on the level of those who believe that Obama asked Joe Biden to “fix the economy” after that drunk Bush crashed it—and Joe rose to the call of service and sacrifice and he fixed the economy....all by himself. i think a lot of wishful thinking was projected onto Trump. ...who, after all—-never campaigned on “drain the swamp” idea. Trump at one time said he wanted to bring back pork barrel spending “earmarks”—-which sent Jeff Flake into retirement & into the arms of CNN . (Jeff Flake had domestic problems having to do with his racist son, so he never was the same Jeff Flake after the story about his son broke .)

That’s not in the least bit true. He had no authority to reject them period. It would have went nowhere and simply been ignored since he has no such authority.
