Very simple here for this morning. I have in my Internet Radio preset radio frequencies WMAC, 970 AM, Macon, Georgia. I have kept that preset for years and have used it as a source for conservative talk and commentary. We have very many Christian conservative friends in that region.
Of late, Erick Erickson has been the morning host (9 to 12 Eastern). And today I am writing him, not in my Free Republic screen name, but in my own name to ask him, "Mr. Erickson, are you, in actuality, a tool of the left, or worse?"
My impression of this morning's (21/01/12) program is that he is attempting to disparage and discourage true traditional Americans who really have not changed from our youth, having grown up conservative, self-reliant, having a work ethic, having a repugnance for the inordinate dependence upon government prevalent today, having our children within the bounds of marriage, believing in national sovereignty with strong national borders, flag-waving patriotic Americans.
My impression is that Mr. Erickson wants to see traditional Christian Americans remain in the shadows, timid, weak, remain within the four walls of our church houses, and keep the decibel level of our worship down, too.
My impression of Erickson from his monologue this morning is that any strong public cry from us against socialism and communism in the United States is to be equated with a very dangerous extremism and coupled with mere theories of a lying conspiratorialism.
My impression is that Mr. Erickson has been reading FBI reports and the scorn of conservatives in the leftist news media --- and it is leftist ---, and I even wonder whether he is under direct influence of authorities using him in an attempt to quell strong protesting on the right.
After only ten minutes of listening to Erickson, I felt as if he had tried to impugn, vilify, and soil me and my family. We spent more than two decades inside two communist countries working with underground Christian ministries. We have seen Marxism-Leninism up close and personal over a long period of time. And we also know that conspiracies are not merely theories; that communists have conspiracies against the United States, and American citizens by the thousands are directly involved in them.
"Conspiracy" is recognized in the American system of jurisprudence, and courts deal with conspiracies every day. The very idea of calling people who recognize the existence of conspiracies in the political realm "extremists," is absurd. And Mr. Erickson, claiming to be a Christian, should recognize the correlation with conspiracy in the spiritual realm.
We are not at all ashamed to be anti-communist to the core. After serving in the occupation of Japan, my own dad served in combat on the Korean Peninsula. Only 23 years later, I myself walked guard on an an airbase in Korea for thirteen months. Why? Because of a real conspiracy hatched no later than 1917, the Communist Universalle --- the struggle for world communism.
I am writing to Mr. Erickson today to ask him whether he is a tool of the left, and if this might not be the case with many talk show hosts who, like himself, are claiming to be conservatives.
Yes!
Yes.
Known NeverTrumper since 2016 and never recanted.
Yes. He has been anti-Trump all the way.
He’s just an asshole. He has spent his entire career in law and the media — two places where you’ll never find too many normal, productive Americans.
Didn’t he move to Cuba when Trump won the election and just came back a couple years ago to sow discontent??
He’s always been an imposter
Like Beck
Btw
These people don’t matter anymore
Donald Trump matters
Those with real power loyal to him matter
Elon Musk with his disdain for tech valley leftism .....
Might matter a whole lot
I hope so anyhow
Old punditry and talk radio are dead
He’s in it for the money. He’s got people talking about him. I’d say that is a success.
YES!
Always.
My impression of Erickson is that he experienced a quick rush of success which led him to believe he was more important than you and that what he has to say is more important than anything you might have to say.
Erick Erickson is, at best, “controlled opposition.”
He has certainly always been a tool.
That’s the nicest thing I can say about it.
.
Thank you for your excellent commentary on Erick Erickson!
I don’t listen to him and now I know not to give any consideration to anything he says, whatever that may be.
God bless you and yours. And God bless America for what it was supposed to be: a land of liberty with justice for all.
True that.
Is that a truck question?
Of course he is/was/will forever be?
Takes being a RIÑO to leves that Kristin, Lowry, Bush, Goldberg, et al could only wish to achieve.
Ever listen to any of his shows during a election? They all sound something like this.....In the race for “blah blah” the Democrat is losing badly. Let me tell what they’re doing wrong, how they can fix it and turn things around”.....or.....”I’ve met and spoken with “Democrat blah blah” quite often and I firmly believe that they’re a Nona code centrist, might even shade to the right on some things so they deserve a look by even some Republican voters.
Of course, he’s the ultimate white guy that loves to do his show from bars in Roswell, surrounded by surbanites that live in some of the WHITEST places in the state, where brags about going to seminary, drinking bourbon, smoking cigars, and the fact that he owns a Glock 19.
And he swears that election fraud is so minute that it shouldn’t even be brought up.
BTW, what the hell is an election lawyer?
But I’m relieved that he doesn’t fill in for Rush Limbaugh anymore.
He exposed himself when he came out as Never Trumper during the 2016 primaries.
You lasted ten minutes listening to him? You’re tougher than I am.
I lived in McDonough and would hear him on WSB on my commute to home from work in Decatur. Yuk! What a bloviating blob. I’ve come close to injuring myself in my haste to switch stations. The benefit of switching was discovering Jay Sekulow’s ACLJ show. I want to say it was AM 920 in Atlanta.
Yes.
He was one of the EARLY never Trumpers.
So early that I believe he coined the phrase “never Trump”.
