Assuming this is true and I highly doubt it, how would disabling the Emergency Alert System have any effect on any of the 3 items you listed ??
Specifically #3, if the DNS system were disabled for some reason, DNS traffic would not all of a sudden stop working, most of the most common DNS entries are cached would still work for some time....but even if that was disabled, it wouldn’t take just specific websites, it would take down everything......So that is not going to happen...
But I’m will to hold off final judgement until General Tom Mcinerney tells us what to believe....
I am astounded by the measures currently being taken to completely silence President Trump and those associated with him. I am not convinced that this is completely motivated by hatred and an irrational desire to punish them/us. To me it smells a lot more like extreme fear. The question is what exactly are they afraid of and why?
But your suggestions are all very good. In their efforts to silence our President they do not care what collateral damage that they might cause. Destroying valuable data means nothing to them.
I get that we’re waiting for something to happen, but why would they disable EBS when they’ll control it in 10 days.
Do you think they fear us? They do not fear us. They do not fear the signal for war getting out. They will control the cities and airports, and the machinery of government, and that’s all that they need for their own happiness. Mopping up the countryside will be forty years of sport for them, the highlight reels will be prime entertainment.
We have no unified command and control, nor will we ever agree on a commander. Defense is our only war game. Play defense, and speak the truth. They will be at your door before you know it.
Been seeing questions on diabling auto updates on phones, apple phones seem to be easy to do, some android phones not so easy.
My phone (and others here from reading comments) does not have an option to disable when going to settings/system updates.
Did a search and discovered the following instructions if you cannot see a option to diable updates on your android phone:
There’s another setting you should be able to toggle to disable automatic system updates, but it’s a little buried. Pull up Settings again and scroll down until you see the “About phone” section. Tap on that. Then, tap on the “Software Information” section, and scroll down until you see “Build Number.” Start tapping on that section until your device says that you’ve enabled “Developer mode.”
Then, head back to your primary Settings screen and scroll down. You should see a new “Developer options” section near “About phone.” Tap on it, and then look for the “Automatic system updates” option. Make sure it’s not enabled. That should prevent your phone from receiving automatic updates. But to be super-super sure, you can also purchase and sideload the Package Disabler Pro app. You’ll then use this to disable your device’s Software Update feature, which will keep it on the current version of your operating system forevermore.
Just did the above on my Samsung S8+ and was able to disable auto updates.
Thanks Jim !
Verizon modifies the OEM software on Verizon sold phones.
I noticed that on my first Samsung android phone from Verizon.
Features Samusung said - in the user manual - were on the phone, had been removed (or hidden from access) by Verizon.
On my current Samsung android phone from Verizon, the ability to turn off OS updates has been removed. There is no “setting” in the entire settings menu, anywhere for turning OS updates off.
Disabled my auto update two days ago.
One will know when this is happening just like this past Summer, when most all smart phones went down so the tech companies could add the China Virus tracking app to users devices.
The thing is, I do not see how they CAN disable the EAS (For those used to saying ‘EBS’, that system is no longer in operation. The EAS- Emergency Alert System- is what we now have.).
The EAS has to be operational everywhere and for every available platform BY LAW. It’s not just for national emergencies. It’s for local and regional disasters and emergencies as well (earthquakes, fires, floods, Amber Alerts, etc.).
If, G-d forbid, we get attacked by, oh...I don’t know...China perhaps...the White House has to be able to inform the American public what’s happening.
What Patriots are possibly expecting to happen is for Trump to get out a message over the EAS as a last-ditch option to tell us to “take the country back” and have us attack the Leftists...in other words, start CWII. I, for one, do not believe that is even possible, based on what I know about the EAS. I worked in radio for several years and studied both the EBS and EAS...it’s kind of a fascination for me.
Are they serious?
Maybe Apple will disable it until Jan. 20, 2021 at 12:01pm?
Or maybe they’ll disable it after then in order to prevent the user from receiving garbled messages like “Trimunaladimaprzure!”
Can you instruct on how/where to find the IP of a website? Thanks
Someone needs to put a list together of ip addresses of conservative sites and any other site needed during such crisis like banks
That would be a coup and whoever does that would be guilty of leaving Americans in peril. Trump is still POTUS.
I just go an alert on my phone that an update is coming out this evening.
An IP address Is not the same as knowing the web address.
If you type in free republic.com a DNS server changes that to an IP address.
I’m a computer software engineer but I don’t do a lot of inter-webs stuff.
But I’ve said for years if you maintain your entire business “in the cloud” you are an idiot... Who do you think controls “the cloud”?
Make physical backups and Start moving things locally today not tomorrow not sometime this week.
They all know it could blow up any time.
there are over 100 on paper ..depends if someone pulls the plug..
