Verizon modifies the OEM software on Verizon sold phones.

I noticed that on my first Samsung android phone from Verizon.

Features Samusung said - in the user manual - were on the phone, had been removed (or hidden from access) by Verizon.

On my current Samsung android phone from Verizon, the ability to turn off OS updates has been removed. There is no “setting” in the entire settings menu, anywhere for turning OS updates off.

I just verified that my auto updates are turned off on my Verizon Android (Blackberry Priv). Probably Samsung is different.

I went:
Play Store
“Hamburger” menu 3 lines on top left
Settings
Auto-update apps
Get choices of “over any network”, “over wifi only”, and “don’t auto-update apps”. I’ve had the last chosen for year or so.
