That leaves Tina Louise as the winner of the “last to leave the Island” contest.
All the other seven cast members have passed.
Ms. Wells once told a story that she had no idea how popular the show was until she decided to vacation overseas in a remote country. She began walking along the beach and one of the natives came running up to her yelling “Mary Ann! Mary Ann!”
Everyone who knew her said she had a bubbly and sweet personality. The girl you saw on camera wasn’t apparently all that different than in real life.
RIP, “Mary Ann”.

Every time I saw her interviewed, she was as lovely inside as out. Sorry that she had no family to help her in her troubles a few years ago. Hope she was compassionately cared for in her last days.

As a kid i was so obsessed over Mary Ann that i really never even noticed ginger.
Over a looong time, say a few years ago i finally gave a good look at ginger and came to the conclusion that yea she pretty hot too...
