Paul McCartney’s new song, The Kiss of Venus, is good. The whole album is pretty good compared to his usual dreck.

Yoko was an atheist. If anything she’ll be attacking Paul for culturally appropriating the tree.

It doesn’t take a tree surgeon to see the man has gone a bit too far out on the branch

I saw Paul on the Flowers in the Dirt tour. He's excellent live and I thought he was way more talented than John. He's also a smart businessman and I do think he'd be shrewd enough to say this to scare up sales.
However, I have to imagine, given his life and what he's lived, on some level, he's nuts.

Paul is my least favorite Beatle, but, yes, this is a garbage story typical of the British tabloids. Harrison gave him the tree, so it reminds him of Harrison. That’s pretty much it.

So this Beetle is actually a Lorax except he speaks to a tree instead of for them.

George Harrison was a Hindu.
He was also a treehugger.
Hindu’s believe in reincarnation.
George came back as a tree.
Makes sense to me.

Although George was baptized as a Catholic as an infant, George was not a Christian. He sometimes expressed admiration for the teachings of Jesus, but he was mostly a Hindu until the time of his death. According to the Wikipedia article on “The Religion of the Beatles”:
“Harrison continued to embrace the Hare Krishna tradition (particularly japa-yoga chanting with beads) and became a lifelong devotee.[17] He was also a vegetarian, on religious grounds, from 1968 until his death.[18] Along with his wife Olivia, son Dhani and close friends, members of the Radha Krishna Temple were at his bedside when Harrison died in Los Angeles on 29 November 2001.[19] In her press statement, Olivia referred to the Hindu aspiration of breaking the cycle of rebirth (and so achieving moksha), saying: "The profound beauty of the moment of George's passing – of his awakening from this dream – was no surprise to those of us who knew how he longed to be with God. In that pursuit, he was relentless."[20] In accordance with his wishes, Harrison's ashes were scattered at Varanasi in India, at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers.[20]”
