Boston Dynamics is dancing into the new year. The Waltham company released a carefully coordinated dance routine featuring their Atlas, Spot and Handle robots.
Earlier this month, the Hyundai Motor Group reached a $1.1 billion deal to buy a controlling interest in Boston Dynamics.

As long as humans are still involved in the conception, design, construction, programming, and testing of robots, and the only thing the robots do is execute the programmed instructions, then frankly I'm more worried about "inhumane purposes" that can be accomplished with the human-involved animated objects we've had for over 75 years, such as armored vehicles, tanks, and rocket launchers. They're plenty terrifying, if you're at the receiving end of a beat-down.
Just sayin', if that's your worry, we're already there.
Really? So they've shut down Top Gun and all of the air wings have converted to drones? How remarkable...
Again... Just because you have an issue with human off planet exploration does nothing to negate the benefits thereof.

Not yet, but as the technology develops it may only be a matter of time (already being experimented with by the Air Force).
Wonder what the time is for destruction of property Vs homicide? Couple of months Vs seven years? I’ll gladly take the first option and take out robots without feeling guilty... :)
Slight difference. In Tanks and APCs there are still humans inside who are at risk. With these robots they can be controlled a continent away. The operators and their masters are entirely safe from personal danger.
It’s probably not a coincidence that the droids resemble Star Wars’ stormtroopers.
