I second this. USP or USP Compact for daily carry.

I mean, only if it’s important to you that your weapon actually fire when needed. If you just need it to look pretty on a shelf, still get the HK because it’s prettier too.

Buy more ammo,(9mm & 5.56) once the real shooting starts weapons will be laying around everywhere.

IMO they aren’t really comparable. Alloy frame vs. plastic (striker fired) makes they radically different. I love SIGs and CZs, and the 229 might edge out the 226 as the best pistol they (currently) make. If you compare them to CZ metal frame models by price CZ has some advantages, like a lower bore axis, while SIGs edge them out in other areas, like a better “out of the box” trigger.

Are we talking in a carry situation?

Hadn’t looked at it that way..... I guess we wouldn’t be picky at that point!

Is one of those a better carry than the other?

When Jeff Cooper was working up the design for his ideal sidearm (the Bren Ten), he based the design on the CZ-75. After the wall came down in the early 90s, the SAS rank and file wanted to replace their Browning Hi-Powers with the CZ-75B.

In my mind, those are two fairly heavy duty endorsements.

While I would not begrudge any person their choice of sidearm, and heavily encourage people to find what works best for them, my EOTW sidearm is a CZ-75B in .40 S&W. It fits my hands, has proven to be exceptionally reliable, accurate beyond any reasonable expectation, and built like a tank.

On more than one occasion, a SIG shooter has tried it out at the range and remarked to the effect that perhaps they had paid too much.
