let's say i have $100000.
i want a short term investment portfolio (until EOY) consisting of SPY, AMZN, AAPL, AMD, TSLA (and possibly others) in some proportions.
what should be the proportions?
i already have most of these.
thanks.
EOY = 3 days???

Are you trying to make money or do you need some short term losses before year end to ease your tax burden?
I’d say even on an anonymous board you’re an idiot for saying you have a million dollars and more of a braggart than really asking for advice.
Because if asking strangers for advice is how you have operated, you wouldn’t have one million dollars.
The threads and vanities on this site are becoming more and more bizarre by the day.
It’s one hundred thou not a million.
100k
Forty percent in Tesla.
JMHO - TSLA - stay away. Apple and Amazon still have room to grow but, be prepared for a huge sell off before June 2021.
Go with Global Crossing and Enron!
Short term? In Stocks?
Send me the money and I will send you back 95% in a month.
Good luck!
I would only short them until Trump gets in.
And I followed AMD up from $2.15.
Really, almost a crap shoot.
Send it to me. I’ll give back 80% at year end. You’ll have certainty.

> EOY = 3 days???
Yes, i am thinking only a few days in advance at this moment because i think beyond that, there are too many variables, and i would want to pull back and be very conservative after the new year. this is only for my ira accounts (in which there is evidently no penalty for short term investing— please feel free to correct me if i am wrong on this).
(however, if anyone has a better idea with some supporting arguments i would be interested)
The stock market is at an all time high. Time to be selling. Too much euphoria. Look at yahoo finance and check each stock for future earnings and stock prices. Or just hold and keep holding. Blue chips are steadier than bottle rocket small companies.
Ha...only if in Put options
Read recent stories about poor quality and worker dissatisfaction from the Tesla Mega-factory in China...same with the battery mega factories ...quality again..
IRA accounts have no short-term/long-term gains to worry about because they are tax-free.
> Are you trying to make money or do you need some short term losses before year end to ease your tax burden?
I don’t want to lose any money. I have been doing very well for the past 4 years (gee i wonder how that happened lol). I do not know enough about taxes to know if you are serious or not, although i suspect you are not being serious.
