With unexpectedly cold weather in the forecast and pandemic-related curfews in some places, Florida is about to have a Christmas unlike any other in recent memory, and it may involve falling iguanas.
The National Weather Service earlier this week warned that South Florida could experience the coldest Christmas Day in 21 years. Morning lows on Saturday could drop into the low 30s and 40s degrees Fahrenheit, the weather service said.
“ Brrr! Much colder temps expected for Christmas," the National Weather Service in Miami tweeted earlier this week. “Falling iguanas are possible."
30 predicted tonight in Jacksonville.
Seniors will be using long underwear tonight.
God sent quail to feed the Israelites. I guess you don’t look a blessing in the mouth.
I doubt it. The pythons will simply become very sluggish but not freeze to death at 30F.
I have a friend that hunts them. He says there are no foxes, rabbits, coons, etc. left in many parts of the Glades. Word is it would have to be 28 degrees in Miami for 3-4 days to have a serious impact.
And now this update by Bob Brunkelmeyer, Chairman of The Flying Lizard Department at Miami University.
“Iguanas can reach a velocity of 316 miles per hour as they plummet from the taller trees. You may receive some notice of a falling iguana if it comes down tail first. Their behinds aren’t really aerodynamic and they whistle as they hurtle down. If you are walking under a tree and hear whistling, we recommend that you immediately cover your head with your purse or a cinnamon roll. The Florida National Guard has been mobilized and is out in force with nets to catch flying iguanas and Biden voters.”
Agreed and I’d consider quail a better blessing for lunch than iguanas
Wow! Amazing
🤡you could be a great real estate sales agent

Num 11:33 But while they were gorging themselves on the meat—while it was still in their mouths—the anger of the LORD blazed against the people, and He struck them with a severe plague.
I’m over in western Pasco county.
We’re expecting 30-31 degrees overnight.
And now we’re all sitting around the table, half comatose after gorging ourselves on Christmas dinner, trying to decide who is going out to cover all the plants.
And we have A LOT of plants.
There are cultures that consider python to be high quality meat. Every slice includes liver, fat, meat, skin, etc.
They love that meat so much that When missionaries were translating the bible they had trouble with the passages like Luke 11:11 where it says “ who would give their child a snake 🐍 when he asked for bread? “
Hint: mountain people don’t bake bread but DO eat pythons.
I often encounter references with which I am unfamiliar. The choice as to whether further illumination on said subject is worthwhile is a personal choice. Often disappointing, sometimes rewarding.
"It is the journey. moreso than the destination, which proves rewarding."
The iguanas come inside wherever they can to get warm. A couple of weeks ago we had freezing weather and hubby had to check the electricity. He opened the outside electrical box and lizards came tumbling out. Tomorrow morning we’re supposed to be 25 degrees. That’s just not fun for us. Oh well, Wednesday it’s supposed to be 75 again, so we will get through this. Meanwhile, watch out for those lizards.
Plus, please make youtube videos of falling & bouncing iguanas.

After Mass this morning I took a walk.
The temp had warmed up to 8. I really don’t
like the squeak snow makes walking on it that cold.
Saturday, I’m fixing on walking on my local lake. The ice should be 5-6 inches thick. I love winter!!!!
They’re not falling, the lizards are jumping out of trees. Committing suicide, and it’s all caused by global warming.
You might find GGG’s ping list..... enlightening.
How do you know the ice is thick enough to walk on?
Asking for a friend.
I’m in Broward county where right now it is 50 degrees and predicted to go down to 43 degrees tonight so it actually won’t be going below 40 degrees here.
Ask the friend to walk onit first.
