I switched to Duck Duck as my Search Engine over a year ago. They’re great. No more Google
The only way you can do web searches with at least a bit of anonymity is to use the “TOR Browser Bundle” to do the searches...and try not to leave any clues (difficult).

Bkmk browser
The best options are REPUTABLE VPN’s. I use the Norton VPN. Free VPN’s are not reputable. Investigations by independent tech investigators have proven them to be frauds.

supposedly DDG was discovered as selling info to google
DDG uses Google.
Duck Duck is owned by google. Its an illusion of privacy, they just dont pester you
I’m using Nord vpn, I’ve got Lifelock and will probably switch to Norton but I’ve got about 14 months left on my Nord subscription. DDG is my search engine and I’m running Mac’s. I try not to use WiFi either. I pay for the data a little more but it’s called old and untrusting. Some could say paranoid. WGAF.
DDG is not owned by Google
“Duck Duck is owned by google.”
Liar. Why would you tell a lie like that here?
DDG absolutely is NOT owned by google, nor is it in cahoots with them. That’s disinformation, designed to keep patriots off of big tech alternatives. Just like the bot moveme to trash Parler.
Don’t believe any of this crap, Freepers! Duckduckgo is great, and much more secure and anonymous than other search engines. They anonymize your data, then run your query through other search engines. Perfectly safe. No secret conspiracy plot by google. That’s stupid.

“Supposedly DDG was discovered as selling info to google”
Disinformation.
“DuckDuckGo’s results are a compilation of “over 400” sources,[8] including Yahoo! Search BOSS, Wolfram Alpha, Bing, Yandex, its own web crawler (the DuckDuckBot) and others.[3][8][9][10] It also uses data from crowdsourced sites, including Wikipedia, to populate knowledge panel boxes to the right of the results.[10][11]”

how does that disprove the claim they were selling info to google? I’m not saying DDG does- just that it’s claimed they do-
WasnâÂÂt there an article here on FR a couple weeks ago pointing out that DuckDuckGo is actually using Google, and that youâÂÂre being tracked just as much, and you see you less, because of the filtering?
