Fashion mogul, model, and reality TV star Kat Von D has announced she is leaving California and moving to Indiana part-time because of the “tyrannical government overreach” by the Golden State’s Democratic officials.
Posting on Facebook, the 38-year-old LA Ink star also cited high taxes, corruption, and “terrible policies” for her decision to relocate.
“Definitely not ever selling our beautiful home in LA, but with all that’s been taking place in California, with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day.”

“We aren’t selling our home,” she added. “But we will eventually be spending more time in beautiful Indiana once I finish doing some remodeling on our new historic house.”
Less than an hour later, she posted a photo of herself standing in front of her new house in Indiana.”It’s official!” she wrote. “Vevay, Indiana here we come!”

I realize that and am sorry if I came across crassly. My comment about being less puritanical applies as much to me as it does anyone else. I have to keep reminding myself that times have changed and so have people. I, we, need to be zeroed in on common objectives. I've talked to so many people who identify as Democrat but when you ask them their thoughts on fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility and human rights, they're conservatives. Half the problem is they think Republicans are Grandma's party.
She works, I’m sure she employs numerous people, and she’s realizing the issues in CA. That’s a win.
I agree with reaching out and talking to people to try to bring them into the fold.
We’ll take what we can get. :)
It's funny that so many of them label the top and bottom correctly, but label the left and right as "Left" and "Right", instead of (say) "Socialist" and "Conservative".
I've known my left from my right without labels since I was a little kid: Left is my sammich hand, right is my milk hand.
Not so much milk these days, though, got to be lactose-intolerant.
So top to bottom is amount of government control, but what’s the left-right axis? It’s just labeled ‘left’ and ‘right’, that tells you nothing about what’s being compared..?
Thus, the traditional definitions of the quadrants, starting in the upper left and going clockwise, are statism, conservatism, libertarian, and liberalism.
The traditional approach to the grid is to measure views on economic and personal freedom, positing that left/right doesn't work. A typical conservative thinks taxes should be low and drug laws high, while the typical liberal thinks the reverse. Statists want drug laws and taxes high and libertarians want both to be low.
The chart I posed on #24 was in response to a pythonesque request that his preferred governmental form be presented in a grid. In retrospect, I delivered on that but, frankly, it's not the best grid ever. For example, contemporary conservatives should be in the upper right quadrant, with strong economic freedom desires (right side) but muted personal freedom desires (upper half).
This quiz helps to illustrate the point.
Genghis Khan was a piker; he slaughtered all the men, he took the women and children as slaves.
He should have just KILLED THEM ALL!
That way the problem does not come back in 10 or 20 years to bite you on the ass.
Good.. bye Kookifornia...
Another future ex girlfriend!...
LOL...
