A DCN review of scientific literature and anecdotal advice from scholars of taste and smell shows dozens of examples of coffee being used as the barometer for a kind of sniff-test for COVID-19, in part for its distinct smell and also for its availability in homes throughout the world.
The CDC now lists the loss of smell, known as anosmia, as one of the most common symptoms of COVID-19, with most recent studies indicating that about 50% to as much as 80% of people testing positive for the virus have suffered from anosmia.

Are you amazed by all the blue you are seeing?
I was wondering whether or not to order a refill.
Tastes great!
Smelling the coffee was one way I knew I was pregnant.
Ha! I was just going to post that smelling coffee was how my wife knew she was pregnant!
I was unimpressed too, but the article gives a couple of relevant links:

Yes. Very thankful for what doctors and medicine can “fix”
I've been getting pretty good at smoking brisket...I use a Traeger grill, no muss, no fuss. Of course, from the moment I start preparing it for the grill, our Rotten Shepherd is no more than 6 inches away from me. The next 4-6 hours for her is sheer agony (cooking time is about an hour per pound)...lol.
No doubt about it, the house smelled awesome yesterday. I don't use anything special, just the roast and rib rub from Buc'ees and Traeger pellets with 3 types of wood. I also like mesquite pellets.
Had Rona a couple weeks ago. Noticed My temp alternated 1-1.5 high, and low. Also went through chills and sweats. But I thought it was the battery thermometer.
“and a hot flash after being in bed at night for about 30-45 minutes.”
I’m also noticing hot flashes at night and I don’t understand it. But it definitely isn’t menopause!
Also, limb pain at night (like flu — indistinct aching in thighs) has continued sporadically since I thought I had covid in Feb/Mar. So if this sensory or CNS pain is a CoVid long-haul symptom, not limited to just autonomic nervous system.
” I thought it was the battery thermometer.”
I don’t trust those things. There are a few old-fashioned mercury ones at the family homestead, but Mom hoards them we cousins have our eyes on them.
In between surgeries, I'd test the difference between the eyes....just amazing...white...beige...white...beige.
Keep on rockin’! : )
Death Brew used to destroy sense of smell in order to increase false positives.
Humanity doomed.
Zombie deer unmoved.
Coffee aroma = barf
Bacon aroma = olfactory orgasm
I refuse to give in the my juvenile male instincts and run with that. LOL
Agree they are nearly worthless.
Oh come on. Let's hear what you have to say.
Lol! Mine was Chinese food.
I’m thankful coffee never changed, taste or smell, when I was preggers.
I always used the way coffee tasted as a pregnancy indicator. For the women in my family it was always accurate and occurred within the first week of pregnancy. The taste became very metallic. Couldn’t stand to drink it while pregnant
