An Australian woman plunged about 260 feet to her death in front of her horrified husband and two sons after climbing over a safety barrier at a “perfect selfie” spot at a nature reserve, according to reports.
Rosy Loomba, 38, of Craigieburn, was hiking with her family at the picturesque Grampians National Park in Victoria on Saturday afternoon when she decided to pose for a photo at the Boroka lookout near the village of Halls Gap, news.com.au reported.
Police have issued many warnings about the dangers of the idyllic spot — famed on Instagram as the “perfect selfie” spot — but the woman nonetheless scaled a railing and plummeted to her death as her husband, Basant, and two young sons looked on helplessly.
It took emergency personnel more than six hours to retrieve her body from the rugged terrain using a winch, according to the news outlet.

Yeah real funny. Will all of you be sending your jokes to her children? Why not do a zoom call and laugh in their faces?
What I really hate about these idiots and their idiot ‘selfies’ that turn fatal - the government will close off the area so “no one else suffers the same fate” - fate that was self-created.
My husband and I were so disturbed by their actions that we had to leave. I don't guess any of them fell to their deaths because there was nothing mentioned about it on the news that night or the next day.
I can't help but remember a quote from John Boy and Billy's morning radio show when they were discussing how those heat shields that you put over your windshield to keep out the sun from your car have the warning "Remove before Driving." John Boy commented that there should not be warnings of any kind because "When stupid people do stupid things, that's nature's way of getting rid of stupid people."
“Every so often I am thankful again for my deep, ingrained fear of heights”

THIS!!!!!
I get weak knees just looking at the overlook area on a computer screen!
“Methinks the tragic outcome made the selfie less than perfect.”
Yea, after posting, I started thinking that the photo might be blurred. But she still had about 10 seconds to get it to Facebook.
Every year, people fall off of a local spot called High Rock in PenMar park.
This will never happen to me because it's impossible to fall off the edge when you're always a good 2 miles from it, in the first place.
I haven't been there since I was 30 or so, and then, only because I was a prisoner on the back of the Harley and it was part of a poker run route.
I assume that was the ‘before’ photo.
Rarely have I ever listened to JB & Billy.
Married Man was the only skit of theirs I liked.
Don’t tempt Fate with low-hanging fruit!
• Don’t go past the safety barriers
• Dont cross the flooded low-water crossing
• Don’t get within the length of the alligator
• GPS assists you, not the other way around
• If someone has to hold your beer, don’t do it
• If it has young, don’t go near them
• Last, but not least...
I think that was a different gal.
Nice view.
What a stupid stunt, and an awful tragedy for her husband and children to witness.
Just the way nature intended for it to be.
What a horrible memory for her loved ones. May God bless them with comfort and peace.
This is not the first time that this has happened.
Whoever said that they felt like getting on their hands and feet to crawl away from a great height...I know what you mean.
In Chicago, a few times I had to go to the top of the Sears Tower. It is so high, you have to change elevators.
All I could think about was the distance between the elevator and the ground. My stomach was flipping all over the place.
I wouldn’t even have gone within 20 feet of that railing let alone climbing over it.......
