SEATTLE - Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan will not seek re-election, prompting what will likely be significant political posturing for the position and a 2021 city campaign season like no other.
“I've decided that I will not seek a second term,” Durkan told KING 5. “2020 has just been a brutal year, but we have some really tough months ahead of us. We still have to fight COVID, we've got to deliver a vaccine, and we're gonna have a really hard job of rebuilding our economy, our downtown and continuing all the work on equity. I could have spent the whole year campaigning to keep the job, or I can focus all my energies on doing the job. And I think there's only one right choice for Seattle and that's for me to do the job."
She told supporters and staff of her decision late Monday morning.
Durkan was seen as a stabilizing force when she was elected in 2017, fresh off the Seattle City Hall scandal that led to the abrupt resignation of Ed Murray, and sudden appointments of then-Council President Bruce Harrell, and later Tim Burgess.
Durkan was the first woman to be elected Seattle mayor since Bertha Knight Landes in 1926, bringing credibility and a resume that included being the first openly gay U.S. Attorney in history.

There’s no way of knowing that now. Fraud has been long entrenched in such places as this that it’s impossible to tell a real vote from a fake.
Seattle downtown is destroyed. Many businesses moving out. Many restaurants were already leaving due to the $15.00 an hour minimum tax. The homeless population kept people from lingering after work for shopping or dining.
Amazon moving a bunch of people to Bellevue, long-time commercial properties manager Clise properties moving to Bellevue.
Bellevue has a woman mayor but she is a sane woman mayor. No homeless allowed, called in the National Guards when rioters attacked downtown.
Ironically, Bellevue has a large population of affluent Chinese and Russians who like to have a good, capitalist business climate.

Her female husband is in the executive circles of the billionaire Macaw Brothers. Summer of Love Jenny will go into hiding, spend more time with her family, etc. spend time confusing her boys about what is and what is not an exit and entry.
But here’s the scuttlebutt I hear.
Jenny was being groomed for being the first LGTBQ non-CIS (I had to look that up) Governor, she was supposed to take over for Inslee.
But ... the Dominion/Smartmatic/ES&S All mail-in voting scandals are quaking under the surface of politics in WA State and word is that Inslee is ensnared.
There has been massive vote fraud in WA State for almost two decades and it came out in court in the 2004 Rossi-Gregoire governor race for which Sommer of Love Jenny was the lawyer for Christine Gregoire (D).
That fraud became institutionalized after a Dem hack judge in that case acknowledged proof of fraud but ruled there was no way to know which way the fraud went. That was a laugh, everyone knew it went for Gregoire. But the Judge had his way.
Since that ruling, WA State Democrats ‘installed’ key legislators in Olympia and passed all mail-in voting. A time correlation since shows the Democrats grab more and more power each election cycle.
Long and short is Jenny is done for, she’s never going to be Governor, she’s remembered for allowing chaos to rule the streets causing untold millions in damages, businesses sacked, murders, lives ruined.
She’s probably been promised a position in A Biden Administration.
Will any of the CHOD zone kiddies be running to rule the roost?

I'd argue that as part of her criminal sentencing she needs to stay in the office until she fixes all that she sabotaged.

Heck, she's probably too conservative for Seattle. So, yes, they'll probably end up with something lots worse.

I’ll try to remember the Far Side when I last saw it in 2004 on my way out the State where I lived for 30 years.
