NY Times says it is time to scare people about COVID. The propaganda machine will be heating up. We will see a barrage of images of people’s lungs, children who died of Coronavirus (extremely rare but anyway), and patients on ventilators. Each child who dies, regardless of what other circumstances led to it, will be shown at the age of 4 with their favorite stuffed animal.

The news is that there is no news. There was talk that Coronavirus laws would end after the election. Unfortunately that goes against the Democrat view that you should never let a crisis go to waste - there is still more tyranny to be extracted from the Coronavirus. We have no jurisdictions that I know of doing anything to soften lockdown rules and I don’t see that changing for months.

I thought as much. Glad to see it is being reported that what we are doing harms kids’ immune systems.
While saddening as a judgment from God, as are aspects of the response, these deaths are Covid-assigned deaths, not necessarily deaths due to Covid, while the real case is poor health, a preventable condition. All but 6% of deaths reported comorbidities, usually two or more, with obesity, diabetes and hypertension being the top three. One can blame the lack of seat belts in a car crash of a reckless driver, but the real cause is effectively reckless driving. We ca blame a lack of dental care for the high rate of cavities and resulting issues, but the real cause is usually our high sugar and processed foods diet.
Yet even with the less accurate (as regards lethality) Case Fatality Rate of 1.9% according to John Hopkins (December 7, 2020), the US has a lower rate than 76 other countries . Including Vietnam which was trumpeted as a model of containment. As well as countries such as Sweden, France, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Ireland, Italy, United Kingdom, Tanzania, etc.
There’s a guy from our old neighborhood who stops by once in a while if he’s passing through our area. Huge lib — socialist — and we DO NOT want to interact with for any reason. He’s walked around sporting masks since the beginning. We think we might put a big “QUARANTINE” sign on our door to scare him away.
“COVID response measures” in the States will not go away until the election is sorted out.

If Trump had won...well, he did, but that’s another issue...the shutdown would have been over. With Harris, though, I think we’re going to see a crackdown like you wouldn’t believe, and at a national level.

With a Trump victory it would not be over as Dem governors would want to keep it going in their states.

I think people would have had the courage to fight back if Trump had won and that the Dem governors...who want the Fed government to pay for their mismanagement of their own states in their “shutdowns” - would realize that the liability for the damage was going to fall on them. With Harris in, they know they can be as harsh as they like, impose as many destructive and viciously targeted “shutdowns’ as they want in order to punish the normal people of their states, and still be guaranteed a paycheck from Uncle Sam.
I also think Biden/Harris will go ahead with the “mask mandate,” no matter how unconstitutional it may be, and is perfectly willing to have it enforced by the military. And remember here, the military has not supported Trump since day one (the top brass, at least) but would be only to happy to carry out Biden/Harris’ orders.
I don’t think so. Some governors have it in their heads that shutting down the economy somehow slows viral transmission. Never mind the fact that the places being shut down are often quite safe while the places kept open (e.g. Costco, grocery stores, etc.) are often places with rampant transmission. To say nothing of the fact that even CDC says that a primary driver of increased infections are in-home get togethers of friends and/or families from multiple households.
People throw parties and it spreads. People go to the grocery store and it spreads. Then the governor shuts down factories where everyone is 30ft apart from each other and car washes where everyone is outside. Just kills small businesses without actually impacting the spread. Pure idiocy.

Imma need some objective, forensic evidence of this, otherwise you are simply spouting several State tyrant’s talking points.
The level of evidence you would require to even entertain the possibility would be video of individual virions moving from one person to another in those locations and if by some miracle I supplied such a thing, you would immediately claim it’s all falsified anyway, so I’m not going to play that game. There is zero chance that any amount of supporting evidence would ever convince you, despite the simplicity of understanding how respiratory illnesses spread and demonstrating the perfect conditions present in specific situations to enable that transmission to happen.
So let’s simply agree that you think it’s all fake and I disagree.
So, you can’t forensically prove that specific instances actually spread COVID.
That’s fine.
And, yes, I knew that before I asked the question.
So, why do you post such weakassed disinformation such as:

You have no idea about how the virus spreads but, you take /media talking points/ as absolute truth AND REPEAT them as such.
