All but 6% of deaths reported comorbidities, usually two or more, with obesity, diabetes and hypertension being the top three. One can blame the lack of seat belts in a car crash of a reckless driver, but the real cause is effectively reckless driving. We ca blame a lack of dental care for the high rate of cavities and resulting issues, but the real cause is usually our high sugar and processed foods diet.
Yet even with the less accurate (as regards lethality) Case Fatality Rate of 1.9% according to John Hopkins (December 7, 2020), the US has a lower rate than 76 other countries . Including Vietnam which was trumpeted as a model of containment. As well as countries such as Sweden, France, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Ireland, Italy, United Kingdom, Tanzania, etc.
