During this election I found myself troubled,. During my quiet time with God I was comforted by this message so I will share it and maybe it will offer some comfort to someone who needs it at this time.
In our state there are lovely green rivers, and clear springs that bubble up from under the ground. The rivers are subject to the farmers fields run off, if it has rained up river, the green turns to a muddy brown it is not drinkable. At my home I satisfy my thirst with water that comes from deep within the ground where it is uncontaminated from surface conditions.
My well water, and my well being, comes because Jesus choose to jump into the fray of human need. While He carried the sins, sorrows, and sickness of the whole world, He said, “I thirst”. After paying the price for my freedom, He sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God. He gave me His life, and He gave me His holy spirit to give me a clean inner wellspring of love, peace, and joy, regardless of the tumult around me.
In the twenty third psalm it tells us how our shepherd of our souls leads us beside the still waters and lets us feed in green pastures. He knows we have gotten troubled by the raging currents. He tells us to remove the muddy water, to be still and know that He is God. He tells us, “yes, you will walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, but I will walk with you”.
You have to move your feet one step at a time but whose hand you hold is how well you will walk. He said, “I prepare a table before you, that your cup of well water will be supplied, that goodness and mercy will be your walking companions, that you can be well”. At the end of this valley is the house of the Lord, where I can visit any time I need to.
Our president once said that he could live well in Florida yet he lets his passion and love for this country keep him in the middle of the fray, taking the surrounding press of an angry crowd. I often pray for the man that he will, in the press of humanity, be comforted by the knowledge that he rose above. He led our country and others to places of peace, May the peace of God be our reward as we give thanks to those who stood in the midst of the fray.

Psalm 23 is very appropriate for where we find ourselves lately, as in the past decade and a half.
Regardless of what happens, Jesus is still Lord and will always be. I rest in that.

Pretty certain the Mrs. isn’t giving up. At least from her activity and vocal/financial support and her commentary.
She’s a prayer warrior princess and I’m blessed to have her next to me.
